P.M.NEWS investigation revealed that yesterday morning at about 1.20 a.m., her husband sneaked into her one room apartment and stabbed her to death in the neck.
Until her death, she resided at 25, Bisiriyu Lawal Street, Jaiyeoba Shasha, Lagos.
The deceased’s elder brother, Mr. Femi Bamiyowa, who spoke about the incident lamented: “What a painful death. My younger sister separated from her husband (Ayo Oyetomi) six years ago and since then she had remained single. She was struggling to survive by selling local herbs in front of the house. She owned a shop because the house belonged to our late parents.
“She was concerned with the education of her children, Rachael, Dorcas and Benjamin. Her busband came from where he resides at Ijoko, Ogun State to fight me in my house. He also sent text messages to our family two weeks ago that he would kill all of us with gun.”
The eldest child of the deceased, Rachael, also got injured while pleading with her father not to kill her mother. She is now recuperating at a private hospital.
When our reporter visited her in the hospital, she said: “We had slept when my daddy sneaked in and held her neck and stabbed her. When I begged him, he stabbed me in the hand.”
When P.M.NEWS spoke with the suspect (Ayo Oyetomi) he said: “I do not regret my action because I begged her to marry me again and when she refused I killed her.”
The police at Afonka Police Station in Shasha, where the suspect is being detained, confirmed the incident and said a security guard called Baba Dami arrested him as he tried to escape after killing Omolara.
When P.MNEWS visited the scene of the incident, blood was on the floor of the room and the entire building. The woman, it was learnt, struggled to survive after she was stabbed.
