The Police in Adamawa state has cried out after a vulture they arrested has consumed meat worth N30,000 barely six days in detention.
According to DSP Othman Abubakar, the Police Police Public Relations Officer of the command, the vulture belongs to a woman and they were both arrested after residents of the Maiha community complained that the bird’s presence created fear in the community.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamu Audu Madaki, had earlier told journalists that the duo were apprehended following a formal complaint from a senior member of the community that the bird’s presence caused panic as it was considered a harbinger of impending insurgency attacks.


Upon receipt of such complaints, Madaki stated that the Police must launch an investigation to ascertain the credibility of the allegation with a view to taking the necessary action to maintain peace, The Pulse reports.
Abubakar expressed concerns that the Command might incur more cost as it continued to detain the bird.

A man's method of securing his newly acquired car has amused web users after a photo was shared online.
In the trending photo, the car is seen in an iron cage built within a compound to protect the car from theft. The cage was locked with a padlock to keep the car safe.

Grilled meat

Refined sugar

In fact, the higher temperatures and longer cooking time result in higher acrylamide levels. Although heating your chips and toasts above 120 degrees may come will a great texture and delicious taste, it also exposes you to cancer.
 
Soft drinks
Energy drinks, soda and other soft drinks are a common diet for many. However, these drinks also fuel cancer growth.
Consuming one soft drink per day, according to research, increases your risks to 13 types of cancer. These soft drinks contain an alarming amount of sugar that accelerate the growth
of tumours.
 
Farmed fish
Farmed fish basically cultivated for commercial purpose in a controlled environment. They are rich in protein and contain more fats than wild fish.
However, farmed fish are often fed with genetically modified foods/organisms which may increase cancer risks.
 
Hydrogenated oils
Hydrogenated oils are chemically extracted from their source. They contain trans-fat which causes cancer.
They are chemically treated and packed with unhealthy omega-3, a component that alters cell structure to increase cancer risks.
You should consider alternative nutrient-rich oils such as olive and coconut oil while avoiding products made with hydrogenated oils.
 
Alcohol
Alcohol has been linked to seven types of cancer including mouth, liver, esophageal, Bosom , colorectal cancer.
Alcoholic beverages contain ethanol and acetaldehyde, two harmful chemicals that cause damage to healthy human cells.
 
Canned foods
Bisphenol-A (BPA) is an industrial chemical used by many manufacturers to produce packaging items such as cans and bottled.
BPA is an endocrine disruptor, which implies that it interferes with the human hormone system, and more scientific findings have shown that it’s exposure to food is linked to cancer.

Reverend Ransford Obeng, who took a swipe at African men in his latest sermon, stated that they are only good in bed and they are not romantic at all.

According to report, the personnel of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested the general manager of an unnamed company, Ade Segun, for allegedly stealing over 10 cars belonging to his previous employers.
The state Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Mu’azu, said during a press briefing on Thursday that Segun usually applied for management positions in prominent companies with the sole aim of stealing their cars and selling them to unsuspecting buyers.
Mu’azu stated that investigation led to the arrest of the suspect at his new place of work, where he was employed as a general manager, adding that during interrogation, Segun confessed to stealing cars from his previous employers.

The commissioner also paraded 17 alleged cult leaders apprehended by the Anti-Cultism Unit of the state police command, who were accused of terrorising residents of the state.
Mu’azu, who said the suspects were arrested following a raid on cultist hideouts in the Ayobo, Shogunle, Oshodi, Ajegunle, Apapa, Ikorodu, Ketu and Alapere areas of the state, added that they had been charged to court.

In a related development, three suspects have been arrested by operatives of the command for allegedly diverting and stealing 30 tonnes of powdered milk belonging to Kobo Logistic Limited in Lagos.
Mu’azu, who identified the suspects as Adesoji Olanrewaju, Sunday Ejirille and James Oja, said they were conveying the product to Abuja when they diverted it to an unknown destination.
He stated that the suspects were arrested and the product recovered in Abia State.
The CP said,
 Meanwhile, the command has launched the Operation Puff Adder to reclaim the public space from criminal elements threatening the security of the state and the nation at large.
Mu’azu, who said the special operation was introduced by the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to tackle insecurity in the nation, stated that the personnel for the operation were drawn from the Police Mobile Force, Tactical units, the Criminal Intelligence Bureau, the Criminal Investigation Department, the Rapid Response Squad, task forces and conventional policemen.
He said tough time awaited those who choose the path of crime in the state.

Juventus striker, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be summoned to face rape allegations after lawyers for his accuser, Kathryn Mayorga, tracked down his address in Italy.
US police reopened the case in October and Mayorga’s lawyers have been hunting for the Portugal international’s address since then.
According to the Mirror, the former Manchester United star’s home address in Turin has been found after searching through property records held by Italy’s Central Authority
The publication also confirmed that Mayorga’s team have asked the official process servers to deliver the summons and complaint. The document is expected to be sent in the next couple of weeks once it has been translated.
A US judge last month allowed more time to track down the 34-year-old’s address in order to start court proceedings.
Mayorga claims Ronaldo raped her in his luxury suite before paying her £295,000 in ‘hush money’ which she accepted because she ‘felt intimidated’. But the Juventus forward has repeatedly denied claims he raped Mayorga at a Las Vegas hotel ten years ago.

The Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday convicted a former Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) acting Director-General Calistus Obi for converting the agency’s funds.
Justice Mojisola Olatoregun found him guilty of money laundering.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Obi on April 12, 2016, on eight counts of converting N378,810,000 from NIMASA.
Obi, a former NIMASA Executive Director, Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services, took over from Dr Patrick Akpobolokemi, who is also facing multiple money laundering and theft charges.
Obi was charged with Akpobolokemi’s former aide, Dismass Alu Adoon, Grand Pact Limited and Global Sea Investment Limited.
Justice Olatoregun held that the EFCC proved the case beyond reasonable doubts.
She found Obi guilty of counts five, six, seven and eight; she found Adoon guilty of counts two and four.
The judge discharged the defendants on counts one and three, which had to do with conspiracy.

Nollywood actress and fashionista, Mercy Aigbe has been called out with claims that she allegedly rented the mansion she said she bought.
Sometime last year, Mercy Aigbe showed off a mansion she bought in Magodo area of Lagos state which is said to be worth over 100 million Naira.



A social media user came out to debunk the news, she claims it was rented and not bought.



She took to her page where she posted pictures of the actress’ home with caption;

In a video that appeared to have been taken on a crowded road in Akure, Ondo state, a lady is seen holding the hands of a man as he gets healed. The man who is said to be a cripple had his crutches on the floor as the lady holds up his hands while he tries standing on his feet.
