63  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / “How I Fooled My Customers” – Arrested Babalawo on: 10-11-2013 06:59 AM
Aliyu Mutairu, the shrine operator apprehended by the police in Mobarajo village via Ifewara along Ilesa/Ife express road in Atakumosa-West Government Area of Osun State for alleged felony, possession of criminal charms and fake currency, says he has no regrets of his actions. He has since been granted bail by the Osogbo Magistrate Court.

The accused, through his counsel Wale Idowu told the Court he was not involved in dealing with human parts or any other criminal activities.

Aliyu said he had been in the business for 12 years so he could make ends meet. Before operating a shrine, he was an auto electrician, then motor parts dealer, but was “duped.” This is when he decided to take up herbs business, and later, into defrauding unsuspecting persons in Lagos.

According to him, the shrine for which he was arrested and arraigned came into existence in January this year with the procurement of acre of land from one traditional chief in Ile-Ife inside the thick forest of Mobarajo. The traditional chief in his confession later became one of the influential personalities that assisted him in bringing customers from Lagos, Kaduna and other parts of the country.

Though he was not reported officially by any of his clients or rather customers, Aliyu claimed that he normally charged between N300,000 and N400,000 from his customers depending on the cases for which they are seeking assistance.

The shrine was discovered on 22nd October 2013 around 5pm by security operatives following a tip-off. It was gathered that one of the vigilante men in Ile-Ife had a disagreement with his wife, and the woman moved out of her matrimonial home along with two of her children without informing her husband.

The man reported the case at the Ile-Ife Area Command from where a directive was issued that the surrounding bush be combed along with the vigilante. It was in the process that the shrine was discovered in the thick forest.

While the shrine was discovered, the woman and two children had been located where she had gone to meet her relations for the settlement of the dispute with her husband.

Upon the discovery, Aliyu Mutairu, otherwise called Aburagbaja, a native of Inisa in Odo-Otin Local Government Council of Osun told the security operatives that he was only using the shrine to defraud unsuspecting people.

No corpse was discovered in the shrine, but a live python was seen inside a coffin Aliyu allegedly constructed to invoke the spirit that produced fake naira and foreign currencies.

He was also said to be using the shrine to assist people seeking appointments into high offices, those in dire need of children and all other sorts of related problems.

Arrested along with Aliyu Mutairu Aburagbaja were Eneji John (55), Tosin Olalekan (17) and Segun Fakanyi (13). They were said to be employees working for him in the shrine.

Discovered within the shrine were about 15 huts where his customers normally stayed or slept whenever they were with him, underground tunnel, different idols, tombs, naira notes, fake dollar notes, black native pots, among other items.

The accused claimed further that the graves, masquerades and other idols in the shrine were meant to terrify his unsuspecting “customers” to do his bidding by bringing money for sacrifices to appease the gods to answer their prayers.

Aliyu also disclosed that he committed a sum of N4 million into the business, adding that influential people in the society were those bringing customers for him. He normally had not less than 15 customers in a week.

He explained further that all the incantations he spoke were mastered by him from a particular book adding that he had no charm to harm even flies let alone human beings.

64  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / ‘It is satanic to suggest I will divorce my husband!’ – Omoni Ogoli on: 10-11-2013 05:42 AM
When relationship experts, Dr. Charles and Dr. Elizabeth Schmitz, stated that “The most successful marriages are those in which spouses are also best friends,” they were indirectly referring to  Nnamdi Oboli and his actress wife, Omoni. The couple see themselves as best friends. They trust each other with their lives. This explains why  the man always by his wife’s side even when  she’s on movie location. After 13 years of marriage which is blessed with three boys, the couple are still like an item. They share the story behind their success and the secret of their marriage.
What I saw in her
I don’t know. I couldn’t compare. I just know that what I saw in her was more than enough to make me want to consider marriage and make her my wife. She was just perfect for me.
Ready for marriage at the time we met.
In some ways, yes, but meeting her heightened my readiness to get married.
How I met her
We met for just a few minutes in Lagos while she was pursuing her acting career. We met some years later and started dating.
What endeared me to her
Her beauty and warmth. She is so exciting to be with.
What marriage means to me
What God ordained it to be; the union between man and woman, and fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives.
Married friend
Yes.
Trust
I trust her and cherish her a lot.
Regret marrying a celebrity
I didn’t marry a celebrity. I married Omoni, who now happens to be a celebrity. There’s nothing to regret. She’s the same person I married over the years.
What binds us
We’ve always been close. I don’t know if it’s what binds us because there’s more to us than what people see. We just enjoy every passing moment, as much as we can, knowing that we could never have it back once it is lost.
10th marriage anniversary
We didn’t travel to Israel for our 10th year anniversary, rather we travelled to Dubai. There can only be one honeymoon. The rest is enjoying every single moment and making it count.
After 11 years of marriage
The number one lesson is that I wish I had met her earlier and been married sooner. Other lessons have been compiled into my book which is in the process of being published. So, look out for it. Other lessons are being learnt as we grow along.
What I don’t like about her
As soon as I know it, I’ll get back to you .
In my marriage, there’s no plan B; no thoughts about divorce— Omoni
Combining marriage with my acting career
I don’t mind travelling. I love it. Nevertheless, I miss my husband and my boys whenever I travel. I’m grateful to God that my husband takes care of things when I’m not around. I cope quite well.
What has kept my marriage going
13 years now. Marriage is not about your status, so I didn’t go into it with the view to changing who I am just because of my new status as celebrity. Again, I thank God because it’s not what I did, but the fact that God gave me a husband that I love and understand and one who loves and understands me. Many others who would have loved to stay married (celebrity or not) don’t always have a choice in their affairs.
Feeling the same love for him
I think I love him even more now than when we first started. We have changed in so many ways and levels in our relationship that has sealed our union, and I’m so enjoying our thing right now.
Having a non-celebrity husband
Marriage to anybody is to understand the responsibility that comes with it. In my marriage, there’s no plan B; no thoughts about divorce. The fact that he isn’t a celebrity is not what makes him a great husband, it’s just who he is.
Temptations in marriage
The greatest temptation is to just sleep. Sometimes the work gets to the point that you crave sleep but can’t seem to squeeze out the time for it.
Second honeymoon
We have had many honeymoon. We find time to make our little mummy and daddy timeouts count as honeymoon. Our 10th anniversary was in Dubai, and we had a great time.
What I can do without my  husband
I can act and cook. What do you mean, “what can I not do without my husband?”  His presence makes those things that I normally do count for something more because he is there with me, and his appreciation of what I do gives me the greatest joy. What can I not do without him? I don’t know if I would have been as close to God as I am today if it weren’t for him. He is my teacher, my guide and the iron that sharpens my iron in the word of God.
Running joint bank account
That’s totally up to every couple. No two relationships are alike. If they have a joint account but make each other miserable, how does that help the relationship? If they don’t maintain a joint account, but enjoy their marriage, who can fault them? So, I say, to each his own, whatever works for you.

65  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Bad days ahead for kidnappers: 100 face death penalty in Edo on: 10-11-2013 05:39 AM
OVER one hundred suspected kidnappers face the death sentence in Edo State following the signing into law of the state kidnapping law by Governor Adams Oshiomhole. Kidnapping in the state became worrisome after  hoodlums descended on the state to a level that even teachers were being kidnapped for ransom. Lagos lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, a Benin High Court Judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, a chieftain of the APC, Athanacious Ugbome, were among those who suffered from the kidnappers onslaught along the Auchi-Abuja road, in Edo State.
It was later learnt that most of the evil perpetrated along that road was executed by a gang led by a  kidnap kingpin, Kelvin Oniarah Eziegbe, who is currently  facing trial in Abuja. Ordinarily,  Oshiomhole believes very strongly in the sanctity of life but on 18 October,  shortly after one of the bloody kidnap operations, the governor had no choice than to exercise his constitutional powers as governor, by signing into law the Kidnap Prohibition Law as amended by the state House of Assembly.
On that fateful day, Oshiomhole was in his office attending to state issues, when the news filtered in that those attending Esan Professionals Conference, scheduled for Uromi, were kidnapped while one was killed almost at the spot where Ozekhome was  kidnapped. Sunday Vanguard learnt that the suspected kidnappers, who reportedly wore police uniforms with bullet proof vests, stopped the victims and informed them that they were under arrest. They were said to have ordered Mrs Ekhomu and her children to a vehicle while the chief executive officer of Thomas White Plc. Mr. Emmanuel Obiyan, and Dr Ekhomu, a security expert, were pushed to another vehicle.
The kidnappers headed towards Sapele. Sunday Vanguard learnt however that on realizing that their captors were kidnappers and not policemen after he inquired about the police station they were being taken to, Dr Ekhomu held one of the kidnappers with a gun and there was a fight. In the process, Dr. Ekhomu suffered a gunshot on his hand but he managed to escape through the bush.

Apparently angered by the Ekhomu resistance, the kidnappers rained bullets on Obiyan and abandoned his body. The gang that held Mrs. Ekhomu and her children ran into trouble  when men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the Niger Delta intercepted them around Sapele and rescued them. The body of Obiyan was deposited at the Irrua Specialist Hospital. The sad incident occurred on Thursday, 17 October.
Oshiomhole, visibly angry, came to office at about 7:30am the following day, and called for the amended kidnap law file. While this was going on, appeal came to the state government to flood the Auchi-Abuja road with soldiers.  Oshiomhole was particularly touched that Esan sons and daughters, who came home from Europe, America and other parts of the world for a meeting, were either kidnapped or shot dead.
At about 11am, the governor signed the kidnap bill into law and urged all those concerned to ensure full implementation. The law prescribed death penalty for kidnappers.Speaking while signing the law, the governor said government would do everything within its powers to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.
Oshiomhole disagreed with those who argue that kidnapping is a result of unemployment, saying “no one should try to trivialise very complex issues”. He said: “We need coordinated efforts to deal with the problem of crime in Nigeria”, lamenting that the governor does not have the  power to deal with any security officer who might have misbehaved or through whose negligence the people might have been exposed to any criminal act.
“At best, we are able to provide resources and equipment as we have tried to do within our limited resources in spite of the fact that the language, the letter and the spirit of the constitution is clear that security matters are federal issues which is why the federal government continues to have monopoly of the police and of all the armed forces and the state security services.
None of these comes under the control of the state government. I am convinced as a matter of fact that the Federal Government is doing its best to arm and equip the police and the other security agencies. There are no quick-fix solutions to the issue of crime. Criminals are not in limited number that you exterminate and go and sleep”, he said.
Sunday Vanguard learnt however that over one hundred suspected kidnappers have been arrested since the passage of the law.  Meanwhile, fifteen suspected armed robbers and fourteen child defilers were paraded on Thursday by the Edo Police Commissioner, Mr Foluso Adebanjo. He said the parade of the 29 suspected criminals amongst whom was a 24 year-old Ifeanyi Nwongi, who allegedly defiled a  girl of one year and eight months, was part of the efforts by the command to wipe criminals out in the state.
Items recovered from the suspects include five vehicles, one AK47 rifle, three English pump action guns, three cut to size double barrel guns, five locally made pistols, 103 AK 47 rifle live ammunition, 505 live ammunition and other dangerous weapons.  Adebanjo explained that 15 suspected kidnappers were arrested in different parts of the state. He said: “Operatives of the command, on routine patrol/ stop and search, stopped one Nissan Vannette bus for a routine check, search conducted on the occupants of the bus led to the recovery of arms and ammunition and arrest of two suspects.
Investigations however revealed that the suspects are notorious kidnappers who have been terrorising the state and were on a kidnap mission before they were arrested”.He further narrated that a crack team of detectives who acted on “credible intelligence” arrested one Osarumwense Ogbeide and Osahon Uhunamure at Aduwawa for alleged involvement in various kidnapping cases which occurred in the state, adding: “The suspects who have been on the command’s wanted list are notorious criminals who took part in the kidnapping cases reported on the 29/05/2011, 01/02/2012 and 09/02/2012 in the state.
The arrested suspects who confessed to the crime led the operatives to Idun-Ehigie community where a 60-year-old man, Raphael Noruwa, was arrested and cone Jojeff Magnum pump action gun was recovered from him. As you can see kidnapping has reduced in Edo and it was as a result of the strategy we adopted which is working”.
Romancing baby
However, 24-year-old  Nwonga, who allegedly defiled the 20 months old baby girl, told Sunday Vanguard: “I held the baby and was playing with her and had erection and sperm was now released on her body. That was what happened; it is not as if I defiled her”. However, Nwonga later confessed that he defiled the child, attributing it to the work of devil. The mother of the child, who took the matter to the police described the suspect as a liar. “ He is my tenant but I never knew that people could be that wicked. He defiled this baby and that was why I came to the police”.

67  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / PHOTO: Man Wins $100,000 In Implant Bet, Keeps Bosom s For 17 Years! on: 9-11-2013 03:31 PM
Brian Zembic with his now ex-wife
United States - In 1996, Brian Zembic, a gambler and magician who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, got Bosom  implants after his friend him $100,000 he couldn't keep them in for a year. The bet was over sixteen years ago, however, there's the added bonus that Zembic gets $10,000 for every year that he keeps his 'man-Bosom s' in.
Zembic says he's grown to love his new parts so much that he refuses to remove them.
"It's a normal part of my life," he adds, "It really is, as sick as it is, it's normal."
Getting the implants has made Mr Zembic sensitive to the problems they pose to women - such as finding the right sports bra for the perfect amount of support. He's also afraid about how age will eventually impact his Bosom s - and what his body would look like if he ever took the implants out.
His Bosom s obviously cause a bit a confusion in the romantic department, but not confusing enough that he hasn't been able to procreate: Zembic has a 13-year-old daughter and she praises her dad for bringing in the money by following through on his bet.
"It gets the bills paid," his daughter says. "It's a little weird obviously, but I guess you could say now he's like my mom and my dad."
Watch a clip from several years ago to see how Zembic looks like and hear his explanation for the unusual choice.

68  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / ASUU Seeks Watertight Deal From FG on: 9-11-2013 01:49 PM
Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities have given the Federal Government certain conditions to be met before the union could call off its four-month old strike.
photo
Part of this condition, Saturday PUNCH learnt, is that all federal parastatals in charge of fund, labour, and education must sign the agreement purportedly reached between its leadership and the Federal Government on Tuesday.
A prominent member of the union, who craved anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on behalf of the union, told Saturday PUNCH that doing this would give the association the confidence that “the Federal Government knows what it is doing when it signed the agreement.”
He said, “I must tell you that our mandate remains. The only mandate we have is that 2009 agreement must be met. We have not reached any agreement with the Federal Government.
“Since the Federal Government  wants to be releasing N220bn every year for five years, then all monetary and regulatory agencies must sign. The  Central Bank of Nigeria, Ministries of Finance and Labour, National Assembly, Office of the Presidency, National Universities Commission, Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Trade Union Congress and our umbrella body, the Nigeria Labour Congress, must sign with consequences stated.
“The reason we will ensure this is that we don’t want argument tomorrow that the agreement was entered in error or that they don’t know the implication of signing the agreement. If possible, documents that will provide for automatic deduction of the agreed money at a particular/agreed date must be provided.”
The leadership of the union had engaged in a 13-hour marathon meeting with  government delegation  led by President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja between Monday and Tuesday.
Though it was generally perceived that both ASUU and the Federal Government  achieved breakthrough in negotiation for the first time after the lengthy meeting with the President, Saturday PUNCH learnt that the lecturers might not be  in a hurry to go back to class.
Another  source close to ASUU who was also part of the marathon meeting  with the President in Abuja, said there was nothing new in what the President promised members of the union.
According to him, government had always failed in implementing agreements reached with ASUU. He said, “Truly the President sat down for more than 13 hours with us. He told us that we were not leaving the venue until the issues were resolved.  The Federal Government also promised to inject funds into the system, but a promissory note is not enough.
“Where would the money come from? There  is no assurance that government will provide money especially with the mop-up policy in place that ensures that unspent money is refunded to government’s coffers at the end of every year.’’
Asked when the lecturers would call off the strike, he said, “I doubt if the strike is ending soon.  The problem is with the Finance Minister. Where is government getting N1trn  from? A government that could not implement agreement between 2009 and 2013, what is the guarantee that they would honour this agreement.
“It is all politics.  We are still awaiting directives from our branches. We have told them the outcome of the meeting with the President but we are waiting for them to tell us what they think of government’s proposal.
“Imagine the Minister of Education has travelled out of the country. He was appointed Vice President for UNESCO General Assembly.  How can he travel out of the country without resolving the crisis in the education sector?’’
He said the Federal Government should spend the trillions of dollars in its Sovereign Wealth Fund to finance university education and improve infrastructure in the country.
A key component of the agreement reached by both ASUU and the Federal Government was that government would inject N1.1trn into public universities in the next five years. Government is expected to inject N220bn yearly into the public university sector beginning from 2014.  But government said it could only release N100bn this year, noting that the amount had already been processed.
The Federal Government also indicated that the N1.1trn would be domiciled at the Central Bank of Nigeria to show its commitment to the agreement. The money is expected to be released on quarterly basis to the universities so that there won’t be any problem about funding the deal.
The National Universities Commission and the Trade Union Congress will be the joint guarantors of the agreement while the Minister of Education will be the implementing officer. Government, according to sources at the meeting, also agreed to revamp public universities by ensuring that all the issues that always lead to strike are dealt with once and for all.
Asked to confirm if lecturers were planning to call off their strike, ASUU Chairman, University of Calabar branch, Dr. James Okpiliya, said the local chapter was yet to get formal briefing on the meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan.
He, however, said the union would make its position known to the press on the President’s offer after the end of a meeting scheduled for mid-night Thursday.
Also, Chairman of ASUU in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof. Adegbola Akinola, said that members must be properly briefed on the resolution between the Federal Government and representatives of ASUU in the last marathon meeting.
He said the only condition that could make its members accept any offer would be the provision of necessary documents.
He said, “The NEC meeting may not hold now. It is the local congress that is expected to hold first which is either tomorrow or Monday.
“Our members are not yet briefed about the details, so it is when we meet that we will know the details and then discuss whether what we got is sufficient enough to justify our action or demand.
“I can’t really pre-empt the mind of other members. But if we are to accept any offer, there must be document to back that up. We need to obtain documents on that. Maybe if there is a document, people may look at it critically.”
However, the Federal Government said it would include the N1.1trn promised ASUU in the education budget starting from next year. It also said it was waiting for the union to know the next step to take.
The Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Olu Lipide, told one of our correspondents on Thursday that government was waiting for ASUU to take the necessary steps.
Meanwhile, the Dean of Social Sciences, University of Lagos, Prof. Omololu Soyombo, has said that the general ASUU body must agree before the strike could be called off.
He said, “It is difficult to believe the President but we give him the benefit of doubt. We believe that the President is noble, the ASUU president promised to give him a feedback. If this had been done earlier, the strike wouldn’t have extended for so long.”
Corroborating his view, the Chairman, Lagos State University, ASUU, Dr. Jamiu Oluwatoki said, “It won’t be long again. By next week there should be a NEC meeting and subsequently the congress meetings before the president can call off the strike.”

Sometimes, when people want to prevent other people or animals from crossing some boundary, they install an electric fence. The shock from the voltage after touching such 'security measure' may result in discomfort, pain, or even death.
That's why most people try to avoid coming near such fences. However, two girls in New Zealand decided to take the 'bare bum electric fence challenge'. One of them is filming their little adventure with her phone, while the other is the actual 'explorer'.
Find out if the girl was set ablaze, exploded, blasted miles away, or chased by a giant T-Rex.

71  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / 11-Yr-Old Girl Killed By Fallen Electric Cable on: 9-11-2013 01:11 PM
An 11-year old pupil of Ogundimu Primary School, Iju-Ishaga, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, Chioma Nwaonumah has been electrocuted on her way from school.
11-Yr-Old Girl Killed By Fallen Electric CableThe incident happened on Kayode Street. The victim was rushed to Pacific Hospital where doctors confirmed her dead on arrival and her sorpse was taken to the mortuary for autopsy.
The primary four pupil was living with her aunt and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Biachi, before the tragedy occurred.
According to an eye witness, Chioma was coming back from school in company of her friends along the street and was about to fall when she held a pole bearing the street name, not knowing that live electric cable the youths of the area used for electrification during the last carnival had fallen on the pole and as soon as she held onto the pole she was electrocuted.
Mr. Biachi, who was distraught when the reporter called at his residence at 17, Adelaku Street, Obawole, on Thursday, said Chioma was loved by everybody.
Teachers and pupils of Ogundimu Primary School besieged his residence on Wednesday to condole the family on the tragic incident.
Biachi declined to speak further on the incident as sympathisers continued to troop to his residence.
Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government also sent some officials to commiserate with the family of the girl.
While reacting to the incident, the former Chairman of Ifeoluwa Ogundimu Community Development Association, Pa Michael Ojo, said it was an avoidable tragedy, adding that the poor state of the street is of serious concern to residents of the community.
He said contract for the reconstruction of the street and the drainage system was awarded some years back but the job was abandoned half way and now the street is worse than before the contract was awarded.
Ojo said all efforts to make the contractor complete the job have proved abortive as the engineer continues to tell the community that he would finish the job without matching his promise with any action.
He decried the action of the contractor, saying the community has suffered untold hardship as a result of the bad condition of the street which is no longer motorable.
Also speaking on the development, Pastor Ogunkoya Olarewaju said the community had sent people to Ifako-Ijaiye Local Governmen to request that the work is completed to avoid the kind of tragedy that had just happened.

A mother was arrested in Turkey for allegedly trying to sell her baby to a couple in a toilet at an airport.
MONSTER MOTHER: Woman Sells Her Baby In Airport Toilet (Video)
The 22-year-old, identified as only Dinara A, was spotted arriving in a taxi at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen airport with her mother and the child in a carrycot.
Turkish police have released CCTV showing how she then apparently arranged to meet up with buyers of her infant.
After she stepped out of the cab she can be seen taking a glance at her baby in one hand and then speaking on her mobile phone in the other hand.
The security footage then shows the buyers walking around the airport, the woman with a handbag and then man with a red suitcase heading to meet her.
Another camera captures the moment when Dinara A enters a public toilet with the baby, followed by the other woman.
The mum is then seen leaving empty-handed in the corridor and the other woman emerges from the facility with the baby.
Police later revealed the woman agreed to hand over the child to the Turkish-born German couple during the incident in September in exchange for $500.
But the sale did not go to plan as shortly afterwards the German woman realised she could not get the baby through passport control so she took it back to the toilet.
She later called police claiming she had found the baby in the toilet.
Suspicious airport officials discovered the transaction after watching security camera footage, which had captured the entire incident.
Police returned the four-month-old infant to her mother, who was caught at the airport.
The German woman reportedly denied charges of attempting to purchase a baby, claiming that he had only wanted to help the mum by lending her some money so that she could look after her baby.
But she was released after giving evidence about the plan. Dinara A, an illegal immigrant from Turkmenistan, and her baby, and mother were later deported from Turkey.

73  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Scarlet Johansson Explains Why Porn Is Good For Women on: 8-11-2013 07:08 PM
Scarlett Johansson has spoken in favour of women enjoying porn, claiming it can be "productive for both men and women".
Speaking ahead of her latest film, Don Jon, about a porn-obsessive, Johansson said she would be "flabbergasted" to discover her boyfriend was addicted to porn, but did not think it was bad thing.
She told Marie Claire: "I'm sure I should have some very well-developed view on [porn's] effect on society, the ethics behind it and how it affects the kind of relationship between men and women and how it objectifies women. But I don't really think about it."
She added she thought porn might help both partners be less self-conscious about sex and satisfy some curiosity: "I think porn, like anything else, can be enjoyed. It can be productive for both men and women."
The film, which sees Johansson play the love interest to Joesph Gordon-Levitt's porn-obsessive character, is one of the latest movies to explore sex obsession and the porn industry, following this year's Lovelace, and 2011's Shame.
Speaking about her attitude towards porn, Amanda Seyfried, who starred in Lovelace as renown porn star Linda Lovelace, said she thought women "should be free to watch it and make it".
She said: "I think there' still are a lot of people being objectified, a lot of people involved who don't want to be. But there's a lot of porn being made for women, written by women.
"It's great, it' self expression, people should be free to watch it and make it it's just how it's depicted.
"Sex shouldn't be depicted as something that's so terrifying. And the access to it is scary and there are a lot of fetishes, but each to his own. I can't judge porn."
Don Jon is released in cinemas on Friday 15 November.

Fifteen people died on Thursday when the Associated plane conveying the remains of former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, to Ondo State for burial crashed shortly after taking off Lagos airport on 3 October, 2013.

In an incredible incident, a woman had the shock of her life when she witnessed a body emerging alive from a grave.
The woman, was at a cemetery in the suburb of Ferraz de Vasconcelos, Sao Paulo, was reportedly going to visit a family tomb when she experienced this scary phenomenon as the man was trying to emerge from the grave and was waving his arms around.
She describes the experience:
'I was terrified to see a man, who I thought was dead, trying to get out of the grave.'
'He had his head and hands out and was moving his arms around, trying to get out.'
The woman first ran away screaming, but returned and called the emergency services, who found the man half buried in a plot of earth.
She also revealed that when she called the police, they thought she was joking at first.
The man, who was described as wearing a grey jumper and with the bottom half of his body almost completely buried by soil, was later rescued after the woman convinced the cemetery officials to talk to the police
The man is now recuperating in the local hospital in Ferraz de Vasconcelos. A hospital source said he is 'coming back to life'. He will also be subjected to psychological tests.
Police believe the man, said to be a former city hall worker, was involved in a fight in another part of the city, where he was badly beaten by his attackers until he passed out and was taken to the cemetery by his assailants.
It is believed they then threw him into a empty grave which was partly filled with earth.

77  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / ASUU STRIKE: FG, ASUU To Meet Again Next Week! on: 8-11-2013 12:55 PM
Academic Staff Union of Universities met across the country on Thursday to consider the offer by the Federal Government.
The ASUU President, Dr. Nasir Faggae after a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan which ended in the early hours of Tuesday had told reporters that the union would take back an undisclosed message to their members.
The PUNCH gathered that the striking public universities lecturers met in the nine zones of ASUU with branch chairmen to discuss the outcome of the meeting with the President.
The meetings presided over by zonal coordinators afforded them (zonal coordinators) the opportunity to brief the branch chairmen about the offer made by the Federal Government to revamp the public universities across the country.
The Federal Government had at the last Tuesday marathon meeting agreed to inject N1.1tn into the universities over the next five years. The money, the Federal Government promised, would be released at the rate of N220bn annually starting from 2014.
The Ibadan zone of ASUU held its meeting at the Federal University Abeokuta on Thursday while that of the North Central Zone took place at the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Sources at both meetings said that though the union officials were not happy that the N400bn per year they asked for was not granted, they were however happy at the sincerity of purpose displayed by President Jonathan.
Though they expressed varied opinion about the offer, they were unanimous in commending Jonathan for being the first Nigerian leader to meet with the union.
When contacted, the Coordinator of the North Central Zone, Dr. Suleiman Mohammad declined comments on the meeting.
Mohammed, who said he was attending to some pressing issues, said only the ASUU President could speak on the issue.
But feelers across the zones, however, suggested that the lecturers might have accepted the offer of the government.
Although branch chairmen still have to call congresses, it was gathered that the union may have made up its mind to call off the strike after meeting with the Federal Government again next week.
A top official of the union said "We are happy with the humility shown by Jonathan to personally meet with us. This is the first time a sitting President will meet with the union to thrash out issues. Members were impressed with him and the strong commitment that he displayed. But some expressed fear that the new deal could go the way of past agreements that were not honoured.

78  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / N5.6bn Scam: Retirees Besiege Court As EFCC Arraigns Fraudsters!! on: 8-11-2013 10:57 AM
Hundreds of Oyo State local government retirees trooped to the state High Court on Thursday as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arraigned a former Head of Service in the state, Iyabo Adeleke, and 11 other suspected accomplices over the N5.6bn local government pension fund scam.
The retirees, who arrived at the court by 8am, displayed placards and cried out for justice. They claimed that their gratuities had not been paid, while the state government also owed them eight month pension allowance.
One of the retirees, Comfort Obani, told newsmen that her standard of living had dropped because of the government's inability to pay her pension and gratuity since 2010.
"I retired as head teacher at St. Michael's Primary School Agodi, Ibadan. I have not been paid my gratuity since 2010 when I disengaged from government's service and there is a backlog of eight months pension that have yet to be paid. What we are expecting now is the pension for March.
"We are suffering because some people embezzled our pension fund. Only a wicked person will do that. We laboured for 35 years but some people took what belongs to us," she said.
Sheu Yusuf retired from Are-Ago Primary School in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area in 2010. He said he had to wait for 20 months before his name was enlisted in the pension's office.
"I waited for 20 months before I was included in the pension's pay roll. I am now being owed eight months. We were told that some people embezzled the pension fund and we are happy that they were arrested and are being prosecuted by EFCC," he said.
Yusuf urged the state government not to wait until the suspects paid back what they allegedly stole before paying retirees what they deserve.
"We know that the government may not be able to take back all the money from them and that is why we are begging Governor Abiola Ajimobi to help us find another means of paying retirees' pension and gratuity. A lot of us are sick and live on medication. Without money to take care of our health, we will die," he said.
Meanwhile, the HOS and the other suspects -Muili Aderemi, Iyabo Giwa, Adesina Ayoade, Banji Oguntayo, Adebiyi Olasumbo, Muili Adedamola, Adeduntan Johnson, Johnson Bosede, Kareem Rasheed, Olujimi Adebayo and Adewale Kehinde -were arraigned on 213 counts of conspiracy to obtain money by false pretence, forgery and stealing of pension fund.

79  Forum / The Buzz Central / How I Caught Two Actresses Having Sex - Bose Arowosegbe Exposes Lesbi on: 8-11-2013 08:21 AM
In a recent interview, Yoruba actress, Bose Arowosegbe reveals the marriage issues that Nollywood is facing and why, in her opinion, some of them would rather be with married men.
She also talks about her experience in witnessing two actresses having sex.

See her response:

On her challenges in the industry:
The biggest challenge is patience, having to wait for your own time. Then there is the issue of seniority when some people older than you in the industry expect you to accord them some docile kind of respect, like, not addressing them on a first name basis. These people expect you to call them "aunties" even when you are older than them in real age.
On how acting has affected her marriage:
Even though marriage hasn't prevented me from acting, it has definitely prevented me from taking up certain roles in my films. Even when I shot my 4th production "Akoda Oro" my husband was on set with me. I just delivered my baby then.
Marriage has limited what role I can play again in films. I cannot take part in a sex scene, real or unreal, either in my production or other productions. And nothing can make me go totally unclad but I can wear seductive dresses because when I am with my husband I still wear them. I can never go unclad or play sex scene but I can be seductive. Before I was married, I wear seductive dresses anywhere but now I only wear them when I am with my husband.

On Lesbi:
I have heard about it and I have seen one with my own very eyes.
It happened when two friends came to visit, then three of us had to share a bed. As we were on the bed with my back turned to the other two, I felt some movements and I turned, alas, the two other girls were at it, doing it. I was simply aghast and dumbfounded. I watched them transfixed for about two minutes and then gave one of them a slap. She looked at me and asked if she had touched me or what. I was so mad that I started shouting at them.
The other one was just laying down while the one I slapped was working on her. she said she didn't know and thought I was also part of it but I shouted 'God forbid'. She then started crying and I told her to desist from associating with the other girl again.

On marriage to married men:
I am married to a married man too. I have not told anyone this before. Other journalists I have met were fed the story that my husband is abroad when he has always been in the country.
Most single men out there are not matured enough to handle the fact that actresses are normal women. They believe we are harlots to be used and dumped. I believe they are too immature to handle the life around us. They are easily affected by things they read and hear about us, and also things they see on screen about us.
But married men are matured to handle all this. They listen to us instead of listening to gist about us. They seem to understand women better. Besides, they are more caring, gentler and wiser.
80  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Robbers Attack Bank Van, Snatch Ghana-Must-Go Bags Filled With Paper on: 8-11-2013 08:09 AM
The Police in Ondo State say the bags snatched by a gang of robbers from an Ecobank van on Wednesday contained processed bank vouchers and not cash as thought by the robbers.
The robbery, which occurred about 2pm on Wednesday, sent shivers across other banks, whose workers immediately locked their doors against customers fearing possible attacks by the robbers.
Eyewitnesses had told reporters that the robbers had snatched the bags, popularly calledGhana-must-go, supposedly containing huge sums of money from a customer who had gone to withdraw cash from the bank.
But Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Wole Ogodo, clarified that the bank had officially reported the facts of the matter to the police, saying the robbers actually carted away a bunch of papers.
He said, "On the November 6, 2013 at 1800hrs, Oke Oludare, the Operational Manager of the Ecobank, reported a police station that some hoodlums numbering about three trailed their vehicle and double crossed it at the front of the bank and snatched three Ghana-must-go bags containing processed vouchers thinking it was money and zoomed off."
Ogodo said the robbers were being closely followed and would soon be arrested and brought to book.
