10301  Forum / Law and Crime / Lagos Police React to Chidinma's New Claim That She Didn't Kill SuperTV CEO, Michael Ataga on: 13-07-2021 10:58 AM

Following latest interview by Chidinma Ojukwu that she didn't kill Super TV CEO, Michael Ataga, the Lagos police has reacted. Recall that Chidinma had earlier confessed to killing the man. Muyiwa Adejobi, the command’s spokesperson, while reacting on Monday, said that a “collective decision” had been taken against granting media interviews on the suspect’s case.

This as Nigerians complained that the media has turned Chidinma's case to a reality show. Reacting on Chidinma's new claim, the police spokesperson said: “We don’t talk about Chidinma’s matter for now and the command is not reacting to whatever it is. We don’t talk about it again."

When she was paraded by the command in June, 21-year-old Ojukwu had confessed that she killed Ataga by stabbing him multiple times at a short-let apartment they rented in Lagos. Asked to comment on the trending video, Adejobi said: “I’m not aware of any video let alone confirming it. If you send it, it is immaterial to me. It doesn’t change our decision, the command’s decision is that we are not reacting on the matter for now, when we are still investigating.

“When we decide to speak on it, we are going to speak on it. If you send me ten thousand copies of that video it is not going to change the decision of the command. “The reason was collectively taken by the command and it is for our own good”.

Meanwhile, in the interview, Chidinma alienated herself from Ataga’s death and insinuated that he was killed by unknown persons.

10302  Forum / Sports / 'I'm Sorry, But I Will Never Apologise For Who I Am" Rashford Reacts to Racist Attacks on: 13-07-2021 10:53 AM

Following racist attacks, after he missed a penalty at the Euro 2020, Marcus Rashford has penned a touching note to fans and supporters. The Manchester United forward said even though he is sorry for missing the penalty, he can never be sorry for who he is and where he came from.

Read the full statement below:

I don’t even know where to start and I don’t even know how to put into words how I’m feeling at this exact time. I’ve had a difficult season, I think that’s been clear for everyone to see and I probably went into that final with a lack of confidence.

I've always backed myself for a penalty but something didn’t feel quite right. During the long run up I was saving myself a bit of time and unfortunately the result was not what I wanted. I felt as though I had let my teammates down. I felt as if I’d let everyone down. A penalty was all I’d been asked to contribute for the team. I can score penalties in my sleep so why not that one? It’s been playing in my head over and over since I struck the ball and there’s probably not a word to quite describe how it feels. Final. 55 years. 1 penalty. History.

All I can say is sorry. I wish it had of gone differently. Whilst I continue to say sorry I want to shoutout my teammates. This summer has been one of the best camps I’ve experienced and you’ve all played a role in that.

A brotherhood has been built that is unbreakable. Your success is my success. Your failures are mine. I’ve grown into a sport where I expect to read things written about myself.

Whether it be the colour of my skin, where I grew up, or, most recently, how I decide to spend my time off the pitch. I can take critique of my performance all day long, my penalty was not good enough, it should have gone in but I will never apologise for who I am and where I came from.

I’ve felt no prouder moment than wearing those three lions on my chest and seeing my family cheer me on in a crowd of 10s of thousands. I dreamt of days like this. The messages I’ve received today have been positively overwhelming and seeing the response in Withington had me on the verge of tears.

The communities that always wrapped their arms around me continue to hold me up. I’m Marcus Rashford, 23 year old, black man from Withington and Wythenshawe, South Manchester. If I have nothing else I have that.

For all the kind messages, thank you. I’ll be back stronger. We’ll be back stronger.

10303  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / If You Have Old Mobile Phones Lying Around You Could Be Sitting On A Small Fortune on: 13-07-2021 10:28 AM

A Website has put together a list of the most valuable old-school mobile phones, so if you've got a 'brick' hidden away in a junk drawer, you could be quids in. At the top of the list is a rare pre-production prototype model of the very first iPhone - which hit stores back in 2007. If you're lucky enough to have one, it's apparently worth a whopping N5.6 Million. Other phones that could potentially be worth a fortune include more common models like old Motorolas and Nokias.

But what makes an old phone valuable?

Well, it's all to do with the software installed on the phone, the exact model, how rare the phone is, and interestingly, whether or not it has a bit of a cult status. For example, the prototype iPhone 1 has previously been sold for £M17 Million because it has different software installed and is, therefore, rarer than many post-production iPhones, which are much less valuable.
Models ranging from the classic 1984 Motorola 8000x, 1994's IBM Simon Personal Communicator (widely considered to be the world's first smartphone), and 2005's Nokia Sapphire 8800 can all fetch top dollar nowadays.

According to LoveAntiques.com, the 10 most valuable mobile phones are:

Pre-production Prototype iPhone 1 - £10,000+
Motorola 8000x - £800 - £3,500
Nokia 7700 - £1,000 - £2,000
Mobira Senator NMT- £800 - £2,000
IBM Simon Personal Communicator- £800 - £2,000
Nokia Sapphire 8800 - £500 - £2,000
Technophone PC105T - £600 - £1,500
Orbitel Citiphone- £600 - £1,000
Ericsson R290 Satellite Phone - £300 - £1,000
Rainbow StarTAC - £100 - £400

"As something most people use every day, it's almost strange to think of mobile phones as antiques, but as we outlined with our 'Antech' category the pace of technological advancements means that a lot of them are nearing that stage.

"It is safe to say that there are some weird and wonderful models out there, some I'm sure a lot of people today wouldn't even know were phones and yet they can be worth an enormous amount."
Will Thomas, Said,  So if you're now frantically rifling through your cupboards in search of a potential windfall, here are some things you should consider before you start planning that dream holiday.

Is the phone in its original packaging? Devices that come with original paperwork and accessories will be worth more. Also don't automatically discount broken devices. If the battery no longer works or it can't connect to a network, understanding why the phone no longer works can still mean it's valuable.

Does the device have a unique selling point? Rare software or iconic tech could play a bigger part than the age of the phone. Now time to have a dig through your drawers for those block phones of yesteryear.
10304  Forum / Politics / Fuel Price to Increase After President Buhari Signs The Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) on: 13-07-2021 10:07 AM

It has been revealed that the signing into law of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) by President Muhammadu Buhari will result in fuel price increase. This is according to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva. Sylva stated this on Monday while speaking at the Nigeria/Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries: 50 Years of Partnership press conference in Abuja.

The Minister insisted that it was best for Nigeria that the Federal Government ends subsidy on petrol, stressing that the recently passed PIB had no provision for subsidy. He also noted that PIB will ensure petroleum products will be sold at market determined prices.

Sylva said, “This (subsidy removal) is desirable for the interest and growth of Nigeria. Of course, everybody will have their perspectives, but from where I sit, I believe that subsidy removal is the best thing for Nigeria, not just the industry.

“So far, the discussions with stakeholders are still ongoing. But I will also bring it to your attention that today, when the President assents to the PIB, subsidy will become a matter of law, because it is already in the PIB that petroleum products will be sold at market determined prices.”

The Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Malam Mele Kyari, has previously insisted that the inability to find a suitable price for petrol is the reason for the continuation of the subsidy scheme. According to Kyari, while its landing price is about N256 per litre, petrol sells for N162 to N165 in most parts of Lagos State.
10305  Forum / Education / Just In: Senate Moves To Stop JAMB From Admitting Candidates Less Than 18 Years on: 13-07-2021 09:58 AM

The Senate Committee on Basic Education has disclosed plans to work towards amending the law establishing the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB to stop the board from admitting candidates below18 years of age.

This was disclosed on Monday by the Vice Chairman of the committee, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, during the committee’s oversight visit to JAMB. According to the committee, age has a lot to do with learning ability, particularly in higher institutions.

Senator Akon Eyakenyi noted that education is very important in the development of the country stressing that the sector deserves to be given much attention. The Senator described the JAMB as a bridge between the secondary and the university, stressing that the agency was a necessary vehicle for the delivery of quality and standard education in Nigeria.

“If the products from the secondary schools are not properly catered for to be assessed before turning them into the university definitely you will have a problem,” she said.

10307  Forum / Law and Crime / Bandits Expose SIM-NIN Linkage Failure, Police Can’t Track Gunmen on: 13-07-2021 09:37 AM

Kidnap victims on Monday explained how bandits had been thwarting the Federal Government’s security regulations in the telecommunications sector. Residents of Katsina, Zamfara and Kaduna states,  who recounted their experiences in kidnappers’ dens, told our correspondents that they made the bandits’ telephone numbers available to security agents.

They, however, lamented that nothing was done to apprehend the hoodlums, thus making a mess of the Federal Government’s directives on registration of telephone subscribers and the linkage of SIM with the National Identification Number.

Under sections 19 and 20 of the Nigerian Communications Commission (Registration of Telephone Subscribers) Regulations, 2011, telecommunications firms are expected to register all subscribers.

In 2015, the NCC directed all telecommunications firms to deactivate unregistered or partly registered SIMs. The regulation, according to the government, is aimed at ensuring that all subscribers are traceable for security reasons.

To further strengthen security in the country, the NCC last year directed the linkage of SIMs with the NIN. But victims, who spoke to The PUNCH, said with the way bandits were operating, the two regulations were of no use.

In  Zamfara  State, a kidnap victim, Mallam Yusha,u Jangeme, said security agents in his village, Jangeme, did nothing to trace the telephone calls of the bandits who kidnapped him. Jangeme said bandits a few months ago kidnapped seven people in his village and he was contacted to bring ransom before they could be freed.

According to him, when he got to the forest to give kidnappers N1.4m out of N3m they demanded, they detained him, saying he must bring the remaining N1.6m. He stated, “As soon as I got there, they received the money and refused to allow me to return home, saying that the remaining balance of N1.6m must be paid otherwise, they would not release me and the other seven people.”

The victim stressed that the security agents didn’t render any assistance in tracing the telephone calls of the bandits despite the fact that operatives in his village (Jangeme) were aware of the situation.

He stated, “The security agents posted to my village (Jangeme) knew what was happening, but they didn’t make any attempt to use the telephone number sent by the bandits who kidnapped us.”

10308  Forum / Relationships & Romance / I Got Married To My Friend's Ex-boyfriend - Woman Reveals (Photos) on: 13-07-2021 09:29 AM

A Ugandan woman identified Jullian Atukwatse has opened up on how she got married to her husband, Emmanuel Bujjingo who was her friend's ex. According to Julian, she met Emmanuel at Wahoneypot Church Downtown, where they had gone for evening prayers.

Jullian said she had come with a friend who had come with her boyfriend (Emmanuel) whom she had never met. "She introduced me to him (Emmanuel) but honestly speaking, I did not like his style and size. I tried discouraging her but she kept on telling me how good the guy was and especially his love for God,” Jullian shares in an interview with mywedding.

The relationship Emmanuel had with Jullian’s friend failed but the two became friends. After some time, he got into another relationship with another friend of Jullian, which also did not last.

"The relationship with the person I was dating at that time didn’t work out for reasons related to trust and infidelity. Despite that, we remained friends with Jullian. There was nothing between Jullian and I not until the relationship I was in failed. I then reconnected with Jullian more than an acquaintance,” Emmanuel says.

Jullian tried to act as a ‘go-between’ to see that Emmanuel reconnects with his ex, something Emmanuel says was never going to happen. Emmanuel says much as he liked Jullian for her striking beauty, especially her alluring eyes, her obedience towards God is what swept him off his feet.

Julian shares that her attraction towards Emmanuel was his spiritual maturity, character and reasoning. She says most people do not like Emmanuel’s principles but that is what she loves the most about him.

"I began to ‘hear’ from God through dreams. God commanded me to leave my ex and wait for him, l could not believe that of all the men out there, God wanted me to wait for Emmanuel. We are happily married and all I can say is that God’s choice is always the best.”

Jullian says it did not take long for Emmanuel to propose because they knew each other since they were friends. He proposed before Kukyala without a ring and she said yes because she knew he was the right man for her.

“I really waited for the ring in vain. At some point I gave up, thinking that some things were not meant for me. He finally proposed at a friend’s wedding after six months of dating but since I had given up I thought it would not be a big deal but guess what, it was and it still is because every time I look at the photos and videos they make my day,” she shares.

Emmanuel, who was a best man at a friend’s wedding, proposed by getting the bride to hand over the bouquet of flowers to her signifying that she was next in line.

"As they handed her the bouquet, I stood right behind them, they paved the way and there I was down on my knees holding the ring. She almost fainted. Her joyful celebration drowned my carefully chosen proposal speech. I just put the ring on her finger and later on that night I sent her my speech on Whatsapp,”
he shares.

After confessing to murdering the Super TV CEO during an altercation at a stortlet, the 21 year old student is now retracting and claiming she doesn't know who killed Ataga, that all she did was panic after she saw his body and left the room with his things including his ID and bank card. She would later withdraw money from his ATM.

10310  Forum / The Buzz Central / My Experience During My Parent's Funeral Reaffirmed My Affirmation About Churches - Chimamanda on: 12-07-2021 01:33 PM

Renowned author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has said that her family's experience during the funerals of her parents has reaffirmed her reservations about churches in Nigeria. Chimamanda lost her mum, Grace Ifeoma Adichie, on March 1, 2021, months after she lost her father. She along with her five other siblings buried their mum in May.

In an article titled ''Dreaming as a singe family'' which was published in the latest edition of the L’osservatore Romano weekly bulletin, Ms. Adichie alleged that the church did not treat her family with compassion as they should during the funeral of both her parents.

''My family’s experiences during my parents’ funerals served to reaffirm, if not renew, my reservations about the Nigerian church. So much could have been handled with compassion for the grieving but was not. So many opportunities to show dignity were left unused.

Our communication with the local church was more of an exercise in priestly power than anything else; we begged and negotiated for a suitable funeral date, with exaggerated but insincere deference shown to the priest lest he changes his mind and not agree to the funeral.
”she wrote

Ms Adichie recounted how a priest chose to critique one of her articles during her mother's thanksgiving service. In the article the priest made reference to, Adichie had written about the Nigerian church's focus on money.

''At the Thanksgiving Mass, a strange concept, as giving thanks was the last thing I felt like doing a day after the funeral — my siblings and I were seated in the front pews, all wearing purple, my mother’s favorite color, all still in shocked disbelief to have buried her so soon after my father. I was immersed in sadness and did not realize right away when the parish priest began to criticise me about a press interview I had given a few months before.

After the interview, there was both criticism and support of my views, as one would expect, but I had not given that interview any thought in months. And so I was shocked by the parish priest standing at the altar and issuing a rejoinder, during my mother’s funeral, in terms so petty and so ill-timed as to trivialise the crushing enormity of her death.”

10311  Forum / Law and Crime / Army Arrests Soldier Who Allegedly Killed Final Year UNICAL Student on: 12-07-2021 01:23 PM

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said the accused soldier was said to have been deployed on duty at the Calabar Correctional Service facility. Nwachukwu said the soldier was apprehended by the troops while trying to run away from the town to evade arrest.

He said the accused is currently in the custody of the Military Police, adding that investigation has commenced to ascertain the circumstances that led to the killing of the student. According to him, the Commander, 13 Brigade, has visited the scene of the incident and addressed the youths.

“The commander assured them of the commitment of Nigerian Army authorities towards ensuring that justice prevails in the unfortunate incident. “He has also paid a visit to the family of the deceased, where he reiterated the Army’s resolve to ensure that the family gets justice over the killing of their son. “The Commander has equally visited the Cross River State General Hospital, where the body of the deceased was deposited,” he said.

Nwachukwu said that the Nigerian army remains a disciplined and professional organisation which will not condone such unprofessional conduct by any of its personnel. He said the army will continue to operate within the ambit of the law, warning all personnel that it will not tolerate any act of infringement on the fundamental human rights of citizens.

“We assure the family and the community that the soldier will be duly investigated and made to face judicial processes as deemed appropriate by the law,” Nwachukwu said.
10312  Forum / Politics / Former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah May Soon End Up In Jail on: 12-07-2021 01:19 PM

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, threatened to issue a warrant of arrest against former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, if she failed to appear in court by the next adjourned date. Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the warning after Dr Hassan Liman, counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) told the court that the former minister and one other defendant were not in court to take their plea.

Oduah, along with eight others, is facing trial in an alleged N5 billion fraud. The court had earlier fixed Feb. 9 for the arraignment of the former minister and eight others. But because Oduah, who currently represents Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, was not served with the court processes, the arraignment could not go on.

The court also fixed April 19 for the arraignment but due to the strike by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), the matter could not hold. EFCC alleges that Oduah misappropriated public funds to the tune of N5 billion while serving as Minister of Aviation.

When the matter was called, Liman informed the court that the case was scheduled for arraignment. He said the EFCC had carried out the court order made on Feb. 9.

“On Feb. 22, 2020, my lord made an order of substituted service on the 5th and 6th defendants in the trial. “We have carried out the order my lord,” he said. Justice Ekwo, however, said that since the court did not sit on the last adjourned date, today’s proceeding should be for a report on the development and another date would be fixed for arraignment.
“How many witnesses are you calling,” the judge asked.

Liman said the EFCC would be calling at least 32 witnesses. He said some of the witnesses were within the court jurisdiction, while others were not. He added that the agency would produce two witnesses in the first day of trial commencement. The lawyer called the court attention to the fact that Oduah, who is the 1st defendant, and another defendant listed as 4th in the trial were not in court.

“I will fix another date for arraignment and if they like, let them not come,” Ekwo said. The judge, who told the prosecution lawyer to put his house in order, said “once the plea is taken, I am proceeding with trial.”

Ekwo, therefore, warned that any defendant who was not in court in the next adjourned date would be issued with an arrest warrant. “Apart from the 2nd and 3rd defendants, the other defendants are absent today. This is a note of warning that any one who is absent will be issued with a warrant of arrest,” he ruled. He adjourned the matter until 19 Oct. for arraignment and trial.
10313  Forum / Politics / Nigeria Won't Know Peace If Southern Governors Ban Open Grazing—Fulani Group on: 12-07-2021 01:15 PM

A Fulani group, Gan Allah Fulani Development Association, has warned against the decision of the Southern governors to ban open grazing in their states. It explained that a ban on open grazing in Southern states would lead to a breakdown of peace between Northerners and their neighbours from the South. The group described the resolution as unfortunate and capable of affecting Nigeria’s unity, Daily Post reports.

On July 5, the Southern governors, during their meeting in Lagos State, unanimously agreed to ban open grazing in their region. The governors gave a deadline of September 1 for the ban to take effect in their respective states.

Reacting, the GAFDAN’s National Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, described the resolution as unfortunate and capable of affecting Nigeria’s unity. Abdullahi said the resolution was impossible because they have not made an alternative plan for herders.

He stated that the decision of the governors would promote hatred between Southerners and Northerners. He was quoted as saying: “If you stop open grazing in the South, you are simply saying that those people should move to the North or they should move to other parts of the country. What happens if those in the North also ask the Southerners to leave?

“Are we promoting unity or hatred? What the governors are saying is practically impossible and it does not promote the unity of this country. “You don’t stop people’s means of living and expect peace to reign. So, the implication is that the unity of Nigeria is going to be in question. “You don’t expect those that will be affected to return to the North and live in peace with people from the South living in the North.”

10316  Forum / Health / Sanitizers With Methanol Can Blind, Kill You – NAFDAC Warns on: 12-07-2021 11:09 AM

As Nigeria battles, the third wave of the deadly coronavirus pandemic, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned  Nigerians against the use of certain hand sanitisers.

The warning is contained in a public alert titled “Recall of Hand Sanitizers by DiBAR Nutricional due to the presence of Methanol”. NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye said the agency received information from the US Food and Drug Agency (FDA) about the presence of methanol in some sanitisers. FDA noted that Nutricional S,de R,L De C.V (Dibar) is recalling all Dibar Labs hand sanitisers, ProtectoRX hand sanitisers and Advance hand sanitisers due to concerns.

Methanol or wood alcohol is a substance that can be toxic when absorbed through the skin or ingested and can be life-threatening. It can result in nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, permanent blindness, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system or death.

Those at risk include persons who use affected sanitisers on their hands, young children who accidentally ingest the products, and adolescents and adults who drink the products as alcohol (ethanol) substitutes. “Methanol is not an acceptable ingredient for hand sanitisers and must not be used due to its toxicity,” Adedeye reiterated.

The agency asked Nigerians experiencing the listed symptoms were urged to seek treatment for a potential reversal of toxic effects of poisoning. NAFDAC implored importers, distributors, retailers and consumers to avoid the distribution, sale and use of methanol alcohol-based hand sanitisers. Related problems can be reported to the nearest NAFDAC office, through the 20543 toll-free line or the website.

10318  Forum / The Buzz Central / 'How I Almost Got Killed While Trying To Save A Man' - Actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde Narrates on: 12-07-2021 10:35 AM

Beautiful Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has narrated how she almost lost her life while trying to save a man while she was returning home from a movie location in Lagos. The mother of four said the incident happened after a movie shoot in Festac and her husband came to pick her. The full story, as narrated to Chude goes like this;

"My husband too has been amazed by my strength, he has come to terms with it. I’ll give you an example. There was a time when we were driving. At that time we were living at Igba, Ojo and we were driving and we had just finished shooting a movie in Festac and he came to pick me up.

So he was driving behind me, I was driving in front and we were driving on that Festac road. And I remember just between that Festac first gate and the second gate, I don’t know if they were trying to kill a guy or something like that but they caught him and I saw them holding a knife.

I started shouting for them to stop. It was dark. This was around maybe 11 or 12 and I was like ‘Stop Stop Stop’. He (her husband) slammed on his break and before he could ask me “what?” maybe because he thought that someone was in front of me or whatever, he slammed on his break and before he could say anything, I just opened the door and I ran.

I wasn’t even thinking. I ran down and I started running towards the dark. He had to run down and start running after me. When I got there, I started shouting “Stop, what are you doing? What are you doing?”

Do you know when he (her husband) got there and saw what was going on, he jacked me and started carrying me. Then they got distracted and they were shocked too. They got shocked like ‘what is going on here?’ Then they looked back, saw us, and they ran.

Then the guy that I don’t know what they were trying to do what to got up and was just shouting “Ese ma, Ese ma!” and he too ran. My husband was confused like ‘what the hell just happened?’ I said ‘I don’t know but at least I’m sure I saved somebody’s life. That’s all that matters.’

Anytime he (her husband) remembers that, anytime we have any altercation about me slowing down or anything, he remembers that and he says ‘Every time I remember that, I realize that this is your destiny so there’s no point in trying to stop you.

For you to run down in the middle of the night from my car and run towards people with knives without thinking twice, I will only try to manage you, I can’t stop you. That is a clear indication of who I am."

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered all religious houses to reduce the number of worshippers at a time. This comes as a third wave of COVID-19 pandemic hits Lagos.

In an update on Sunday evening, July 11, Sanwo-Olu said isolation centres in the state have recorded a five per cent increase in occupancy in two weeks, indicating the start of a third wave of infections.

He said, "Since the beginning of July, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of daily confirmed cases, with the test positivity rate increasing from 1.1 percent at the end of June 2021 to 6.6 percent as of July 8th, 2021.

"The rapid increase within a week gives great cause for concern. Also, within the last two weeks, the occupancy rate at our 2 isolation centres increased from an average of 1% to 6%. This is the new and disturbing reality that now confronts us.

"Greater vigilance is required at this time in our Churches and Mosques and other places of religious worship. Even as we are pleased that religious houses are now open for worship, after the lengthy closures of 6 2020, we must not allow ourselves to be carried away by the illusion that all is now back to normal. This is especially critical, as Sallah approaches, in a little over a week from now.

"The festivities will no doubt bring people together in large numbers and create conditions that can sadly cause the spread of the Coronavirus. We must not allow this to happen. "For this reason, we are mandating full compliance with all protective protocols. Compulsory use of masks in all public places, Social distancing, Temperature checks, Provisions for hand-washing and sanitizers, and a maximum of 50 percent occupancy in enclosed spaces. Resisting Pandemic Fatigue Whilst both the Federal and State Governments have a huge role to play in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, the responsibility of managing the third wave ultimately belongs to all of us."

Founder, Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo has revealed what he told a governor who gave him an envelope containing money. Oyedepo spoke during his sermon on Sunday in Ogun, Southwest Nigeria.

He said in 1990, a governor gave him an envelope and that he asked him if it was his money or stolen money, because he would never partake in stolen money. “One lady came from Switzerland many years ago, we were in Kaduna, I have told you that story before. She was cumbered with troubles and said, “Sir, please pray for me and I will give you an offering.”
“When I pounced on her, she froze. I said, “if you are not blind, you will know I am richer than you.” 1987

“A governor gave me an envelope here 1990. I said, “I hope it is your money”: you will find it in my various documents. He puts his name there, he said, “Sir, it is my money.”

“Not that I opened it and it was small. How dare you? Give me something! To do what with it? Operating in the reality of your future. You are not begging issues. I can’t partake of your stolen stuff. Glory to God,”
he said as captured by Church Gist.

According to Oyedepo, “Many people have been blessing this Church that are not partakers of such money and the only way to keep seeing that happen is to tie yourself with God and then you find favour from God flowing in your direction.”
