A passenger was duct-taped to her seat on an American Airlines flight after she reportedly attacked flight attendants and attempted to open the plane's front door. The incident happened on American Airlines Flight 1774 that was traveling from Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas to Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday, July 6, but a TikTok video of the incident went viral over the weekend after it was shared by TikTok user @lol.ariee.
@lol.ariee explained that the commotion started one hour into the two-hour flight when "all flight attendants were running up and down the aisles, frantically kind of like whispering to each other." The crew began locking bathrooms, and started grabbing bags from overhead bins, but wouldn't say what exactly was happening, @lol.ariee said. "It was just kind of like chaos and no one knows what's going on," she continued.
The pilot finally spoke over the intercom and asked people to stay in their seats because of "a bad situation in the plane," though he did not elaborate further, according to @lol.ariee. As the plane was landing, a flight attendant who sat near the passengers explained that a woman who was going through an apparent mental breakdown, "had an outburst" and attempted to get off the plane.
"She was saying, 'I need to get off this plane,' and she went up to the exits and started banging on the doors, saying, 'You need to let me off this plane!'" @lol.ariee said. The woman reportedly got aggressive, biting, spitting, and attacking flight attendants, so this prompted airline crew to "take her down" and duct tape her mouth.
When the plane landed, the unidentified woman in first class can be seen with duct tape around her body and mouth as she attempts to scream at passengers who are departing the plane. The video shows a police officer and medical personnel waiting by the plane's entrance as other passengers walk out upon landing.
American Airlines confirmed to the New York Post that a woman "attempted to open the forward boarding door" during the flight and was restrained "for the safety and security of other customers and our crew."
Ghanaian singer, Wendy Addo, popularly known as Wendy Shay has alleged that some Nigerian upcoming artists have been having s3x with some female Ghanian celebrities. The singer stated this during an interview on Accra-based radio station Peace FM, disclosing that she is aware of the female celebrities who are having an affair with these Nigerian underground artists.

An 11-year-old boy has graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physics at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. Laurent Simons, from Oostende on the Flemish coast, Belgium, successfully completed a three-year course in one year, whilst also taking master’s courses on the side.
He outperformed other students by getting the highest distinction possible. “Simons has been studying for his bachelor’s degree in physics since March 2020, and he now graduated with 85%, which is the highest distinction,” said an Antwerp University spokesperson. “This year, he also took some courses from the master’s programme. After the summer, he will officially start his master’s degree,” the spokesperson added.

According to a reports, the many supporters of wanted Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo also known as Sunday Igboho have taken to the streets of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to protest last Thursday’s midnight raid by the Department of State Services on the residence of the Yoruba nation activist.
The protesters gathered in front of Igboho’s house in the Sooka area of Ibadan from where they took to the streets around 12 noon on Wednesday.
They were heard chanting “No retreat, no surrender!”, “Oodua Nation!”, “Sunday Igboho is not a criminal!” amongst other phrases. They also carried placards displaying similar phrases. A leader of the protesting youths, whose name was unknown as of the time of filing this report, addressed the gathering before they took off.
He said they would march to the palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji; and from there proceed to the Government House, amongst other places.
“It is a peaceful demonstration; we are marching there to demand the release of the detained persons. We are not afraid of teargas, we are marching to demand the rights of our people.“We want them to bring the killers of Adogan and Alfa to book. “The government must pay the N500m damages as requested by Igboho’s lawyer for the destruction of his house and property during the invasion. “We want the Obas to make this happen within seven days,” he said.
We had earlier reported that the DSS invaded the residence of Igboho in a Gestapo style around 1 am on Thursday. Though Igboho had escaped the raid, his house and cars were riddled with bullets while bloodstains splattered over the floors of the house. The DSS also said it killed two of his associates in a gun duel. Thirteen of Igboho’s guards and close associates were later paraded in Abuja on Thursday evening.
The secret police had since declared Igboho wanted. The activist is being accused of stockpiling weapons to allegedly destabilise the country under the guise of agitation for Yoruba nation but he has since denied the allegation, saying he protects himself with charms and not weapons.
Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday, lauded the raid. He said Igboho is a militant who conducts acts of terror, adding that the regime won’t condone any act by secessionists.
However, the DSS raid had been condemned by many Nigerians including human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, who described it as a “nocturnal coup”, arguing that no law in Nigeria allows security agents to arrest anyone in the dead of the night.
Also, Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, had condemned the invasion which he described as “bizarre”.
Similarly, Southern governors, on Monday, resolved that security agencies must notify them as the chief security officer of their states before they carry out any operation within their domain.

Kano State Govenor Abdullahi Ganduje says President Muhammadu Buhari administration spends N1.5billion monthly on school feeding in the State. Ganduje gave the figure on Tuesday when he hosted the technical committee on the National Home Grown School Feeding programme (NHGSF). He stated that Kano has the highest number of population in Nigeria and also the highest number of public schools.
Ganduje said his administration operates free and compulsory education system, while Almajiri education has been integrated. The Kano helmsman, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, said these resulted in higher pupil enrollment.
“When education is made free and compulsory, the number of pupils will definitely increase, even if you cannot afford it because it is compulsory”, he noted. Commissioner of Education, Muhammad Sanusi-Kiru, said Kano has 1.2 million pupils covered in the school feeding programme.
He called for validation of data of the beneficiaries to 2 million due to increased enrollment. Sanusi-Kiru added that there are 12,258 food vendors benefitting from the NHGSF. The commissioner said each cook receives N82,000 every 16 days to prepare food for the pupils in primary one to three.

A teenager has been found guilty of murdering two sisters in park in north London. Danyal Hussein, 19, stabbed to death Bibaa Henry, 46, and Nicole Smallman, 27, in Fryent Coutry Park in Wembley last year.
The sisters had been celebrating Ms Henry’s birthday when they were attacked and dragged into bushes. Their bodies were found together on June 7 last year. The jury were told that Hussein was captured on CCTV buying knives before the killings, and returning to his father’s home afterwards.
A DNA link was found at the scene, leading to Hussein’s arrest on July 1 last year, the Old Bailey has heard. In a “campaign of vengeance” Hussein pledged to kill six women every six months to win the Mega Millions Super Jackpot of £321 million and carry on killing women as long as he was able, jurors heard.
In another sinister note, he offered blood to ‘demon Queen Byleth’ to make a girl at his school fall in love with him. Hussein has disputed the evidence against him but declined to go into the witness box.
He denied two charges of murder and possession of a knife. Hussein’s killing spree was halted because he cut himself during the frenzied attack on the sisters, enabling police to track him through DNA. A jury found Hussein guilty on Tuesday of two counts of murder and possession of a knife with intent after a jury deliberated for around eight hours.
He stood facing the jury and crossed his arms as the verdicts were delivered in front of the victims’ parents. He was found guilty and would be sentenced.
Bayelsa state governor, Douye Diri has questioned President Muhammadu Buhari over the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu. Diri while reacting, expressed worry that the federal government has allowed renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, a northerner to defend and interact with bandits.
Diri, who spoke on Tuesday, when he featured as a guest on Channels Television breakfast current affairs programme, Sunrise Daily, said Gumi had become somebody no one can touch, adding that it was very unfair.
Diri said, “Two things I have to say.
“First, they should give him [Nnamdi Kanu] a fair hearing so that the trial will not be done in a way that everyone (especially the Igbo) will see it as oppression. “Second, as we talk about the IPOB, what about the boys (bandits and herdsmen) organising killings in the North and in the whole country? What of Sheik Gumi? He has become somebody no one can touch. That’s very unfair.”
Recall that Gumi had recently warned the government against the killing of bandits, insisting that the criminals were victims too. The Islamic scholar insisted that no school was safe in the North West for now until the government negotiated with the bandits. His recent statement has raised questions of his involvement with the bandits and why the Buhari’s administration has failed to summon him for questioning.
Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has hailed the raid on the home of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igbo. Providing a reason for the raid, the government accused Igboho of being a militant ethnic secessionist.
In a statement on Tuesday, Malam Garba Shehu, on behalf of President Buhari, accused Igboho, who has been canvassing for the Yoruba Nation, of “conducting acts of terror and disturbing the peace under the guise of protecting fellow “kinsmen”.
“His seditious utterances and antics, which he is known to have publicly expressed, have over time morphed into very hateful and vile laden speeches”, Shehu said. “It must be highlighted that the government respects fundamental rights of citizens to express their views and recognizes this as a democratic tenet. “However, any attempt to build an armoury coupled with plans either subtle or expressed to undermine our unity as a nation will not be condoned”.
The reference to armoury was in relation to the 10 guns the DSS claimed it got from Igboho’s home in Ibadan. The DSS also claimed its operatives were attacked first and they responded killing two persons. The agency also arrested 13 people, including a woman.
“Mr. President’s directives to Security Services regarding anyone seen to be carrying arms, particularly AK-47 are clear and require no further illumination”, Shehu said in the statement. “Assault weapons are not tools of peace loving people and as such, regardless of who they are and where they are from, the Security Agencies should treat them all the same”. The president’s statement commended the security agencies for demonstrating “significant deftness, guile and secrecy in carrying out these missions”.
“This level of professionalism must be sustained and brought to bear as we focus on extracting from our society those who have found a new trade in targeting students, rural dwellers and our citizens in the North-West. “The nation recognizes their efforts and sacrifice”, it concluded.
