An activist, Adeyeye Olorunfemi, has revealed that he was asked to remove his #BuhariMustGo T-shirt before going live on a Channels Television program on Monday. Olorunfemi, however, walked out of the program after refusing to remove the T-shirt.
He stated that he chose to walk out of the studio rather than continue with the interview because doing that was tantamount to compromising on his belief. He noted that he was offered a jacket to wear, to cover the #BuhariMustGo inscription on his T-shirt but he refused as it was “too absurd” for him.
The activist did a live video in the Channels TV office, where he explained what occurred.

Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan's former aide, Reno Omokri has reacted after being accused of enjoying abroad with money he stole while being in government. Reacting, the ex-presidential aide shared his affluent historical background to his followers.
@Saifullah El-yaquob took to the comment section in Omokri's post and wrote; "You don steal our money during the corrupt Jonathan's regime dey go abroad enjoying life, right Continue, Nigeria will soon be divided and you must return all those money you and your cronies stole"

Palpable fear has gripped residents of Delta State following threats of invasion and bombing of the state capital, Asaba and Agbor, headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of the state by a faceless 'Fulani Jihadist' group.
The group, which claimed responsibility for the fire incident that gutted the Federal Secretariat complex along Okpanam road, Asaba, warned Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to immediately withdraw his stand and support for the banning of open grazing in a recent southern governors meeting held in May and hosted by Okowa in government house, Asaba.
In an unsigned threat letter titled 'Fulani Jihadist Warnings!!!: An Open Message of 2 Paragraphs to Delta State' pasted in strategic places across the state capital and Agbor on Sunday, the faceless group warned Governor Ifeanyi Okowa against any failure to adhere to their demand for his withdrawal from the ban on open grazing within 72 hours, it would invade Asaba and Agbor.
The threat letter carrying pictures of members of the terrorist group Boko Haram, dated June 13, 2021, sighted by SaharaReporters, reads in parts:
"This is to inform Delta State that the Fulanis of Usman Dan Fodio leadership shall do everything it can to uphold the legacy of our heritage of open grazing, for we are nomadic people from origination and shall never negotiate the ownership of Nigeria and West Africa and Sub-Sahara.
"We hereby demand the Governor of Delta State to immediately withdraw his early stand for the call to ban open grazing in 17 regions in not less than 72 hours from the above date and also, withdraw his position as the leading voice for the governors, as no occurrence we don't have the first-hand information, even before the hosting of the South-South, South-East and South-West governors meeting in Asaba.
"Failure to adhere to this demand, Delta State, most likely the city of Asaba and Agbor, shall encounter severe consequences than that of Bornu, Kebbi, Kastina, Kaduna, Enugu, Benue, Oyo and many more that will not respect the Fulani's heritage, as we take responsibility for the detonate explosive uncovered in the state capital secretariat, which should serve as a warning to the Delta State Government for what is to come, should the governor fail to abide by our demand.
"We highly advise all Fulanis and northerners, including the security personnel, to leave Delta State as soon as possible for the wind of our action is now present in the land, for the failure of the governor to adhere to our call, this shall leave us with no choice. Therefore, Deltans, be told, be informed, be prepared."
Meanwhile, calming the already heightened tension in the state over the 'Fulani Jahadist' group's threat, the state Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali, assured residents that all modalities had been put in place to forestall any such occurrence.
A statement entitled, "Delta State Police Command Assures Deltans Of Their Safety And Security," signed by the state acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, said, "The attention of the command has been drawn to a recent publication making rounds purportedly published by the Fulani's of Usman Dan Fodio leadership tagged "FULANI JIHADIST WARNINGS" and pasted in various locations around Asaba and Agbor to be precise.
"The command, under the watch of CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, psc+ who is ever committed in its responsibility of providing security for all Deltans, is assuring members of the public to ignore the said publication which miscreants must have pasted to create panic in the state. All modalities have been put in place to forestall any of such occurrences; all residents are advised to go about their lawful businesses without fear or panic.
"Undercover police operatives have been deployed across the state to gather intelligence. In addition, other proactive measures have been put in place by the command. However, members of the public are also urged to continue to partner with the police by providing useful information that will help in policing the state."

A widow, Chioma Asomugha has cried out over her in-laws insistence that she drinks water used to her bath her late husband’s corpse. The 34-year-old native of Ubahuekwem in Ihiala area of Anambra spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Chioma said the brothers of the deceased, Charles, told her to drink the water to prove she was not responsible for his death. The widow disclosed that the couple and four children lived at the Ajangbadi area of Ojo. Chioma said the burial will be held on Monday June 14, and that the in-laws already chased her out of their home.
“They insisted that before I will be allowed to come in that I will drink the water used in bathing my late husband’s corpse,” she complained. Chioma called the attention of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Awka and her Oraifite people to the matter.
Laura Ugwuanyi, Coordinator of NHRC in Anambra, described the family’s demand as unfortunate. She regretted that efforts to resolve the matter did not yield positive results as the family was not cooperating. Chief Gerald Nnabugwu, a community leader in Ubahuekwem and Anambra Commissioner for Information, C. Don Adinuba promised to intervene.
A group, Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ), has called on the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to vie for the presidency in 2023 for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians.
The group made the call on Sunday as posters of the former Lagos governor’s presidential ambition flooded the streets of Abuja. Tinubu has yet to formally indicate interest in vying for the presidency.
However, the National President of DOJ, Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje said the APC National Leader is the only chieftain of the ruling party with the capacity to continue with the programmes of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The peace, love, unity and harmony of this country has never been disturbed like this. All this is happening just for those crooked politicians to disorganise us, but unfortunately for them, we have gone far ahead of all their evil strategies.
“We are supporting Tinubu and calling on him, begging him, inviting him to contest the 2023 presidential election for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians. “We are out for the Tinubu 2023 project because we love Nigeria and we believe in the progress of this country.
“You can believe me that Tinubu has laboured so much for the development of this country. We all know how he laboured to give us President Muhammadu Buhari.“We need continuity. We need somebody that will continue and consolidate on the achievements President Buhari is making. We need somebody that knows the house, and that is Bola Tinubu,” Alawuje said.

It is a sad time for members of Askawa and Gidan Dannunu communities in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State following a bloody attack by bandits. At least 30 villagers were killed on Sunday when bandits attacked the communities.
Eyewitnesses say the bandits stormed the communities on motorcycles and shot sporadically to scare the villagers. They said that several persons also sustained various degrees of injuries in attacks.
A villager in one of the communities, who pleaded anonymity for security reasons, said the bandits carted away cattle, adding that they also looted food items and burnt one truck. We gathered that the security operatives who engaged the bandits were overpowered.
Another villager said that he counted at least 29 corpses and participated in the burial of no fewer than 11 persons that were killed by the armed bandits. He further stated that the Head of Kwata community, who was just returning from his market activities, was also killed in the process.
When contacted, the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammad Shehu, explained that the incident is still under investigation, saying that the Command would issue a statement on the attack very soon. It would be recalled that Zurmi Local Government Area has been one of the worst hit by bandit attacks in the state.
The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma says no one at moment can give him a reason why the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not be reelected in the next general elections. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Uzodinma challenged Nigerians to give reasons why the ruling party should not win the 2023 polls.
Uzodinma said President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has performed well and should be applauded. While responding to a question of whether more governors from the Southeast would defect to the APC, the governor said, “Not just from the South-east, many governors in Nigeria will join the APC”. “Part of the problem of this government is the deliberate attempt by some group of people to pull (it) down.

Speaking on the crisis in Imo state, Governor Uzodinma called on fellow leaders to join hands to bring an end to the insecurity in the state, noting that himself alone cannot restore security.
He appealed to all stakeholders including traditional rulers, religious leaders, and politicians, to engage more with the issues in order to engender peace in the country. He also stated that former political office holders who have failed to speak out against the security crisis in the country have questions to answer. According to him, if all leaders speak out condemning perpetrators of insecurity, a lot of changes would be visible.
“Anybody worth his onions as a leader should be able to speak out. How many of them are speaking out. “How many of them are condemning what is going on. rather what you see is leaders fanning the embers of insecurity, the governor said. He also stated that anyone found culpable in the destruction of government property would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector of General of Police, arrived in Lagos State on Wednesday to a cold welcome, as he was booed by Lagosians around Oshodi-Anthony Expressway while en route to an event.
Alkali’s mission in the state is yet to be known. However, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, told FIJ the IGP had just landed and his address or comments would soon be made known. In preparation for the arrival of the IGP, Lagos State Police officials blocked the Oshodi-Lagos Airport Road and Maryland-Ojota axis of the highway. The blockage of the highway did not go down well with Lagosians, who were stuck in traffic for hours. As the IGP’s convoy passed the blocked road, the already-pent-up crowd booed and called him names in Yoruba. While some shouted “thief”, others screamed “you will never do well”.
The IGP’s visit comes three days to the June 12 nationwide protests that have been planned to take place at Freedom Park, Ojota. The protests are against bad governance under the Buhari regime, with the recent ban on Twitter adding to mounting displeasure of Nigerians against the government.
A mother from Queensland, Australia has been identified as the woman who was fatally mauled by three cross-breed dogs. Amanda Carmichael was visiting a home in Maryborough, in Queensland's Fraser Coast region, about 9am on Tuesday when the pit bull terriers attacked her.
Ms Carmichael, 41, was a beloved mother and well-liked member of her community. Maryborough Patrol Group Acting Inspector Wade Lee told reporters at the scene Ms Carmichael suffered critical injuries to her neck, chest and arm during the attack. Others were present at the home and called emergency services, but Ms Carmichael died at the scene.
One woman who knew Ms Carmichael described her as a 'beautiful, darling friend' who will be 'missed ever so dearly'. David Kindelan, a friend of Ms Carmichael, told The Chronicle she had endured a 'troubled few years' but was always friendly and good company.
The United States government has called on the government of President Muhammadu Buhari to stop repressing the rights of Nigerians by immediately reversing ban on Twitter. The US government said this through Samantha Power, an administrator of the United States Agency for International Development. In a statement on Wednesday, Power revealed that Twitter has over 40 million users in Nigeria adding, that the ban is a ploy by the government to sanction free speech.
“There are nearly 40 M Twitter users in #Nigeria, and the country is home to Africa’s largest tech hub.”“This suspension is nothing more than state-sanctioned denial of free speech and should be reversed immediately.” The US mission in Nigeria had also accused the federal government of denying Nigerians right to Freedom.
