FORMER chairman of the proscribed National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oyo  State, Alhaji Abdul Lateef Salako, a.k.a Eleweomo, has denied his involvement in the death of a member of the union and his wife.

The former union leader, in a statement in Ibadan, on Tuesday, said the deceased was a member of his group until his untimely death.

Salako, who noted that it was not possible for him to be involved in the death, said the state police command had arrested one person in connection with the incident.

According to him, it was unfortunate that some people were alleging that “I kill the deceased, because he was trying to defect to another group.”

He said the state police command should be allowed to investigate the matter for the truth to prevail.
