The management of Enyimba FC of Aba has placed the Technical Adviser of the club, Augustine Eguavoen, on an indefinite suspension for poor performance and anti-club activities.
The Chairman of the People’s Elephant, Felix Anyansi Agwu, in a chat with SportingLife Thursday night disclosed that the failure of Eguavoen to return to his duty post immediately after the club's disastrous outing in the 2012 Federation Cup showed his lack of commitment to the club and hence the decision to tell him to step aside.
Agwu said: "We have suspended Eguavoen for two cogent reasons: We performed so badly in the Federation Cup and the second was his failure to resume with the team immediately after the Federation Cup exit.
"It means he doesn't have any feeling about the position of the club and that is why he has been suspended indefinitely. He has been reached and there is no two way about it; a decision has been taken and it is binding as it took effect immediately."
Anyansi Agwu confirmed that the rest of the technical crew with Abdu Maikaba as chief coach would prosecute the four remaining league matches starting with the tie against Akwa United on Sunday. He also re-echoed  that the technical crew and the players must win their four remaining matches as earlier directed as they have been placed on half salary. Enyimba are 4th on the log with 52 points from 34 matches.
