About 3,000 workers recently sacked by the Oyo state government are worried that Governor Abiola Ajimobi is not ready to implement the state house of assembly resolution on their matter. An Ad-Hoc commitee to review the cases of the sacked workers from Oyo State Civil Service was set up by the house some weeks back.
Some of the workers said Ajimobi was playing with their future as he has failed to reabsorbed them as directed by the state assembly. But this insinuation was puntured by the chairman of the ad hoc commitee, Hon Segun Ajanaku. According to him,it is not true that we have passed the resolution for absorbtion of the sacked workers back into the civil service. Those who are peddling the rumour are mischief makers.
Ajanaku disclosed that the commitee report has not even submitted to the leadership of the Oyo State house of assembly because the house was on recess by the time the work was finished and report compiled. “We have finished the work but there is no pronouncement yet because the house has not admitted it yet. We are on recess at the moment” he said.
Meanwhile, Naijapals gathered that Governor Ajimobi will leave Ibadan, the Oyo State capital today for Saudi Arabia, where he is expected to perform the less hajj. Dr. Festus Adedayo, the special assistant on media to the governor confirmed the schedule in a statement. He emphasised that the governor will be travelling with just three of his aides.
