SAN FRANCISCO, August 17, (THEWILL) - The Muslim Ramadan fast will continue through the weekend after failure to sight the new moon of Shawwal, says Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Dr. Muhammad Sa'adu Abubakar, via stateowned national television network NTA.
Muslims had hoped to break the fast with the Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah) celebrations on Sunday.
I just hope boko haram has nothing to do with this

the funniest comment have ever read. Sighting of the moon is beyond human comprehension. Even astrology can't explain it.

really!!!the owner of the article as misled you...fasting is either 29 days(if the moon for the next month is sighted) or 30 days if not sighted...so fasting ends today...tomorrow is EID!

sighting the moon is not beyond human understanding(comprehension)..Astrologers can explain it...it can be calculated...but we do not calculate it in islam..it has to be sighted visually(telescope)...it is not that difficult but it needs good vigilance..EID MUBARAK
