Nigeria Borrows N106B From China To Develop 11 Of The 22 Airports

Nigeria has borrowed N106 billion from China to develop 11 of the 22 airports in the country. This was made known by the minister of aviation, Princess Stella Oduah on Thursday [Sep 6] at a press conference.



She said the first batch of 11 airports being remodeled have reached 80 percent completion and will soon be put to use.

Oduah said five of the airports will be for cargoes while the remaining six will be developed into modern commercial airports.

The contracts for the construction of the five airports have a lifespan of 24 months. The projects are to be executed with a concessionary loan of 22 years with 5 years moratorium at an interest rate of 2 percent.

“Mobilization to site by the contractors is expected to commence within 90 days. What this means is that before the end of the lifespan of this administration, we would have been able to bequeath to Nigerians the airports of their dreams", she said.


The minister will soon be going to China to sign the loan agreement.

Nigerian leaders are disgrece to Nigerians just N106 billion you people whent all the way to China to borrow what a shem? dose it mean that Nigeria dosen't have in their account, so all those money they said they recoverd from people is not upto N106billion so what is people doing with our money? God have mercy on your childrens for our so called have finished us in that country Nigeria.

The old priest lay dying in the hospital. For years He had faithfully served the people of the nation's capital. He motioned for his nurse to come near.

We hope that Nigeria will pay back the loan in a timely manner, otherwise China will take over the
ownership of Naija.

What a shame!  even when Nigeria never borrow money from them, they always tell their Citizens that they borrow us money.  Now we did it, they will show it for a whole week on China's CCTV.  Am a shame as a Nigerian.

I never know when our government will learn from other countries. Borrowing money for airport remodel NOT building new airport... all Nigeria leaders both old and new need to be synchronize. It's an inglorious thing us as a nation to announce such borrowing...Mtchewwwwwwwwwwww Cry
