A fire incident reportedly triggered by electrical spark yesterday evening at the popular Alade market in the capital city of Lagos State, Ikeja gutted some nine shops.
Damage from the fire, witnesses say, was limited due to fast response from the Lagos fire service.
The fire started at about 7pm, and the Alausa unit of the fire service was activated to quickly respond to the outbreak.
Men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency [LASEMA] who arrived the scene this morning cordoned off the affected part in the market, sealing off sixteen other shops in the area.
