A virtuoso display from both Bayern and Dortmund sees them put both Barcelona and Madrid to the sword

After the semi-finals draw, the prospect of an El-classico final excited the world. with the bookies also placing money on both Spanish to outclass their respective opponents in the semis and battle it out for Europe's prestigious trophy.

But the entire football world has been left shell-shocked as both Madrid and Barce were taken to the cleaners. The first leg tie between Tito's side and newly crowned champions would be regarded has one of the best team performance in the history of the competition as Bayern defeated the catalans 4-nil to place one foot in the finals at Wembley.
Much talk before the game was whether Lionel Messi would be fit for the encounter or not, but Messi who started the game looked a very unfit player after being declared fit. Juup Heynckes' side were the better team on the night as they scored 4 unreplied goals, courtesy of a brace from Muller, and the other two from Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben.
Barcelona now have their work cut out as they need to score 5 unreplied goals to get to Wembley.

Champions league hopefuls Real Madrid were hoping for their La Decima (their 10th UCL title) at the start of the season and had made giant strides towards it by defeating Manchester United and Galatasaray en route the semis. Mourinho's men wouldn't have wished for another opponent aside Dortmund considering the pedigree of the remaining 2 teams, but it wasn't to be for them as Dortmund swept four past them to stand a better chance of qualifying.
