Popular musician, Tuface’s record label, Hypertek, has been shut down, costing him a whopping N40 million.
Tuface Idibia has hit a turn for the worst in his music career after his album ‘Unstoppable’ flopped. It was gathered that, incompetent staff, who were factors in causing the album to fail, have had their services terminated since the closure of his label, Hypertek.
Tuface ploughed N40 million into his label which should have driven him to success. However, ‘Unstoppable’ was an album with great potential and full of hit tracks. Critics said that the poor promotional efforts behind the album led to its’ failure.
Previously, the artiste was signed with Kennis Music, releasing two successful albums that were promoted using a wide variety of propaganda tactics to push the albums to his target audiences.
Hypertek had shown signs of trouble when their only signed act, Da Natives, split up last year. At the time this was disguised through the well-known term ’spin’ and ’spin doctors’ employed, who covered up the split by stating the two that made up Da Natives, Hycenth Idibia and John Agon, would release separate albums under the label.
Trouble at his label was reinforced when Tuface returned to Now Muzik, apparently for a management deal but the move was not unconnected with the drive to put his career back on the right path.
Since the record label has been officially closed, even if it is for the time being, previous about the move back to Kennis Music are getting stronger.
