Players and officials of Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars will on Tuesday be rewarded with a car each for winning the 2012/13 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title now Glo Premier League.

The Sai Masugida were confirmed champions on the last day of last season in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State after losing 1-2 to Sunshine Stars in an entertaining duel.

The expulsion of Ocean Boys from the Glo Premier League last season also paved the way for the success of the Kano-based club as champions.

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is expected to host the champions at the Government House in Kano on Tuesday. The ceremony will start at 2pm.

Kano State Sports Commissioner, Professor Umar Jibril, told SuperSport that the governor is excited with Pillars for winning the league title.

“The executive governor of Kano State is happy and I can confirm to you that all the players and officials that campaigned with Kano Pillars last season will be rewarded with a car each on Tuesday at the Government House.

“We should have done this before the Ramadan celebration, but the accident that happened to Kano Pillars in Kaduna forced us to postpone the celebration,” Jibril said.

Kano Pillars at the weekend lost their top spot to Enyimba on the league table and are now second on 42 points.
