Firstly; the United States wasn't the only country that used slavery in the last millennium, and especially African slavery. Spain and Portugal sent seven times as many Africans as slaves to South America as other countries sent to North America.

Secondly, every culture has its mythology, the things that don't get discussed. These days the Europeans want to forget their colonial past; the US has all but forgotten its conquest of the Philippines, for example; in Australia there are those who try to downplay, if not outright deny, the slaughter of the Aborigines; and Japan so censors its history that many of its people either don't know about WW2, or believe that America began it when it dropped the atom bombs.

Thirdly, humanity may have begun in Africa, but the current African nations can take no credit or comfort for that.

well said all that matters is history and that is why the great honorable marcus garvey says a people without their past history and culture re like a tree without roots.

You called my question stupid because you did not apply your gumption.

The video clip has nothing to do with any African nation taking the credit for human evolution and I am not aware of such a thing.
The fact is humanity started in Africa and what we all benefit today has its roots in Africa.
Archaeologists, historians and other scientists will attest to this. The video is just too explanatory enough.

You should be more concerned about facts and not credits.
You like to prejudicate a lot given most of your comments on this forum especially about Africans and Africa.
Your thoughts are usually based on ignorance, arrogance and that reminds me of slavery, colonialism and racism. .

History does not lie….
