The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), says it has not taken a categorical stand on Stephen Keshi heading Nigeria’s coaching crew to the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

Nigeria’s sports minister, Bolaji Abdullahi last week announced that a “foreign technical assistant” will be drafted in to the Super Eagles backroom staff if Keshi makes such a request.

The NFF has now revealed that no decision has been reached in that regard as the federation was still in the process of appraising the performance of all the coaches under its employ.

“The minister (for Sport) has been like a father. He means well and I am sure his words are aimed at improving our national team even more. What he said was advisory and we are full of gratitude to him,” NFF’s technical committee chairman, Barrister Chris Green told supersport.com.

Green also revealed that the technical committee of the NFF would meet soon to reach a definite conclusion on the matter.

“Right now, we are still appraising what has been done so far and we have yet to come to any conclusion as to whether the team needs an assistant or not.

“However, all the coaches we have appointed for all our national teams have done very well in their various roles.

“However, we are always looking to improve and get to the very best level so as to favourably challenge the very best in the world,” he said.

NFF president, Alhaji Aminu Maigari also discussed the issue with supersport.com.

“I am impressed with Keshi and all the national team coaches but I cannot make unilateral decisions.

“The technical committee of the federation will meet and recommendations will then be ratified by the executive committee,” he said.

Tribunesport recalls that Frenchman Phillipe Troussier, Shuaibu Amodu took Nigeria through the qualifiers of France ‘98 and South-Korea-Japan 2002 respectively only to be replaced by Bora Milutinovic and Adegboye Onigbinde at the World Cup finals.

Amodu again lost his post to Swedish Lars Lagerback at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The Nigerian NFF is used to that, rember  Amodu the supper eagle  former coach how he was dump for foreign coach after he has qualified the supper eagle for world cup in south Africa 2010. Our leaders are used to that, lack trust, lack confidence on their own, the same reason they loot our money and keep it in overssea account while whilte men used it to developed their own country. If the NFF sould hire a foreign technical advicer or what ever the super eagle should just boycut world cup.

These clowns in NFF should allow Keshi to continue the wonderful job he is currently doing with the super eagles. They've not paid him since March and they still intend to hire a foreign technical adviser, where would they get the resources to pay the new assistant?
