Former South African president and anti-apartheid legend, Nelson Mandela, who passed away last Thursday, will be laid to rest on Sunday, December 15.

As part of the burial rites marking his final journey, the global icon was given a befitting Lying-in-State ceremony today at the imposing Union Buildings in Pretoria, the nation’s capital.

Several world leaders and thousands of South Africans showed up at the venue to pay their last respect to the late ‘Madiba’.
