The reason is simple. An actor/actress is what he/she is period. Expressions like "Yoruba actors" fuels that dichotomy which isn't helpful. An actor/actress should be able to interpret roles irrespective of the culture or language. Now, consider this: Why is Olu Jacobs, a Yoruba man, able to interpret roles in Igbo, Yoruba and English movies? Simply, versatility. Be versatile and stop putting yourself in a cocoon or allow yourself to be branded a "Yoruba actor/actress." You are an actor period and should be able to pick up jobs across genres or cultures. Western actors (America, France, British etc) spend up to a year in foreign lands to learn their cultures in order to interpret their roles correctly.

I agree with you completely

Some just don't reason before they make comment.
And I strongly believe that they don't even watch theses movies that look like juju to them simply because they are tribalistic or religiously blind.
Forgetting that what is happening in in Yoruba movies is also happening in the movie with their languages 100%.
I agreed with the writer but to some extent. Yoruba actors might not be as famous as their English actors and actresses but one thing is obvious, they have been able to send across to the world the cultural value of the Yoruba people and the language is more spoken than any of the languages we have in Nigeria.
The melody value of the language has become a norm to the non Yorubas in Nigeria, at least I have listened to several Igbo music featuring Yoruba language to make it more melodious as well as movies to make it more reasonable and send messages across.
All the writer is saying is to do more to bring themselves to the stage and compete with the English actors and actresses. We should not forget that among the English actors and actresses, there are Yorubas.
So please comment reasonably.

even if voodoo are commonly used in yoruba films,is as a result of reflection of  Nigerian(yoruba) culture, even American films depicts their culture ,How many people are licensed to a gun in Nigeria that they would act a film with much shootings, any nation will not act a movie out of the concept of their culture
