The limestone mansion which was built in 1910 for society figure John R Drexel and his socialite wife has in the past been described the Upper East Side condo as 'where Marie Antoinette would have lived if she had the money'.
Joan Rivers had tried to sell the property a number of times, first in 2009, when she planned to move to the West Coast to be closer to her daughter, Melissa Rivers.
Her latest attempt was in 2012 when the breathtaking property was put on the market for a $29.5 million asking price.
Now, it may be worth considerably more, with similar-sized apartments in the area on the market for $35 million
