When a Family, a Society, a Community is not in peace! That's an enormous vacuum for eradication. ReplyMeaning!!! If 'em Communities where the militia is being originated & duely recognised by the Nation, if they've known Unity amongst themselves! they'ld rather be stronger, fearful & re~espectful than being in crises. I think, they caused the crises themselves neverdless. . .

Make no mistake, the Proclamation made by President of the FR of Nigeria looks similar to a broadcast by coupist taking over government illegally, that is actually not the issue. The issue is that the proclamation is seen as a means to peace in the Niger Delta... this view is equally shared by some militants as they also have made public there interest to partake in the process. However the cause of militancy and other forms of protest in the region remains neglected. We are in a dilemma... the crisis of development in the Niger Delta has kicked of several other crises viz environmental crisis, value crisis, educational crisis etc. Will amnesty return the Niger Delta to its self sustaining nature ReplyThe so called amnesty to the so called militants in the Niger delta is only a temporary cosmetic solutions (if I can call it that) that will not bring about any qualitative cum quantitative improvement in the standard of living of the people of the delta. I am not totally against it given that it will bring about a remote semblence of ceasation of hostilities. However, as long as the fundamental questions that gave rise to the crisis of instability (that they call militancy) is not addressed, there wont be any headway in this issue.

Do we REALLY NEED a Petroleum University in Kaduna at this time? Sometimes, I think, Yar'Adua and his boys just dont want peace in this Country. There is no Federal Institution of Higher Learning in Bayelsa State and no Federal University in Delta State and they 're talking about a Federal University of petroleun in Kaduna State that does not have a drop of Oil? I think this President is sick in the head. Reply

Who else do u think that caused the niger delta crisis other the same people who have been monopolizing the political and ecomomic strong hold of this nation for more than to half a century. Those who have been miss informed that they are the real first class among the fitst class citizens of naija. Those who feel that since the political order of the day is "the winner takes it all", it will be unpardonnable to regard the so called minority tribes as also heir apparent to the most powerfull positions in the government or economy of this country. They are the same people that instigated hatred against any other tribes that are not one's tribe. It is the same people that did not recognize the slutter and butchery of about 2 million easterners (including calabars, effiks, ibos, etc) as genocide!!! They are the same people who have always forced themselves into power either by arms or electoral rigging. They are the people who do not count on our votes to go up into power. they are the same group of people who thought the citizenry the corrupt ways; only to turn around again and start pointing acusing fingers to the down troden masses for coruption!!!They are the people who as dealers, nay, leaders who marginalize in wealth distribution. Petro-dollars are stollen away to Swiss banks,or Saudi Arabia,or Brazil for private refinery projects...while the poor masses are suffering and smelling, nay, smilling. If there is so much injustices every where from the top it is not a surprise that there are agitatiors that take arms. For the intellectual benefit of those who were not informed, Niger delta crisis is not todays phenomenon. And that niger delta was a part of Biafra is the truth that will help the ignoramus among us to understand that it is the same question of marginalisation that made Gowon and Ojukwu to go to Ghana(Aburi) for accord. Ken Saro Wiwa was a great man. Because he continued from where Ojukwu stopped. He did not have his own original idea. Surely, there is a limit to human endurance. After much talk-talk and cry of suffering of the people that go into deal ears of the the same people who have the monopoly of power in Nigeria politics,...the lifting up of arms, we should admit is never the first option...it comes as the last option. whether in Biafra, or Ogoni, or OPC,or in Somalia, or in Iraq,or in Sudan, or in Democratic Republic of Congo, orany other part of the confilict world. IT IS THE INSENSITIVITY OF THE POWER MONOPOLISTS IN ASO ROCK THAT IS THE CAUSE OF IT ALL! ....na di aboki Yar Adoua and his predecessors, and their foreign collaborators from Britain(amalgamator of the Nigeria geopgraphic entity for their admnistrative convenience), America, France(oil companies who have been exploiting both the oil and nigeria), Russian(who supplied amunitions to Gowon to deal with Biafras) Arab world(for secretely instigating hausa-fulanis towards deontocratising Nigeria thru sharia saga and the likes). So, those who say it is the Niger delta people that caused their problem are advised to go and read more about Nigeria, it all shows how ignorant they are about the question of marginalization in Nigeria.
