Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, on Tuesday stated that money politics will have no effect in the forthcoming general elections in the country. He made the assertion yesterday morning on Sunrise Daily, a breakfast programme a popular Television station.
Amaechi, who was recently appointed the Director General of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential election campaign, based his argument on the emergence of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) as the presidential candidate of the APC.
According to him, “General Buhari won the APC primary without money. Nigerians are now wiser. They can’t be deceived with money or any material thing. This election will not be based on money, if it is to be based on money, President Jonathan would win the election.
“There is no difference between the pocket of the Federal Government, the pocket of President Jonathan and the pocket of PDP. It is the stealing at the national level that led us to where we are now. We can’t continue in a nation where N2.3 trillion was stolen and nothing was done.
“If PDP wins the Presidential election in a free and fair situation, we in the APC are not like what they are calling us, our leaders are responsible; we will congratulate President Jonathan. But if they use military against us and rig the election, we will not take them to court; we too will take illegal action against them because what they have done too is illegal”.
The Rivers governor stressed that the APC never intends to cause violence or breakdown of law and order in the country, but declared that social injustice is what should not be allowed to prevail.
He also denied the allegation that his administration is owing workers in the state, saying on the contrary, he has directed that all workers be paid before the Christmas celebration.

Amaechi is a very big fool. He will be useless after the coming election. I am just waiting to mock ignorant supporters of GMB. When Buhari was president, I was a very small boy. I'm a grown man now and he still wants to be my president and I guess thereafter IBB will come back. See there's a lot to why this people are so desperate. I don't think they really care for the people. All these pity Buhari is trying to earn from Nigerians will not work. I know what is right from wrong and I can smell a fake from afar. Do u really tink with people like Tinubu behind Buhari money won't exchange hands. Nigerians will never seize to surprise me... Why dont we ever ask the right questions? Does religion or Ethinicity put food on the table or pay the school fees? NO I for one dont care if a Buddhist or Atheist will improve the country, even if the person is not Nigerian, i want a better future.. We like claiming to be smart but in reality we are majority foolish and the 1 percent rich Knows how to deflect our attention from the real question.. i really had high hope for Jona government but he failed miserably and now he hasn't explain to us what he has done the past 4 years, but he is trying to tell us how dangerous the opponent is.... Old trick, but its working for him, because even on this forum, i still see blind people who seem to not think, but see things from a tribal or religious point of view..
