Two students die in classroom collapse

Two female students of the Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu, Kebbi State, died yesterday when their classroom collapsed while they were reading.

The incident occurred at about 8:30pm as the students were studying for their examinations. The collapsed classroom is in the Government Arabic Secondary School within the college premises. Two other students who were also in the classroom are now receiving treatment at the Argungu General Hospital, the Provost of the College Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Zagga has said. The provost said when the incident occurred, the late students were rushed to Sokoto for treatment as they were in critical condition, but they later died.

He added that the two other students who were taken to the Argungu General Hospital were responding to treatment. Alhaji Zagga said a one day mourning was declared and that examinations were suspended yesterday. He however said the examination would continue today. When contacted, the Commissioner for Education in Kebbi State Sani Yusuf Rokobolo said on telephone that the Permanent Secretary in the ministry had been directed to investigate the matter.

It is a pity that she left home to read and she died in school, because of the i dont care attitude of government to their responsibilities. This is just one in a million that has died because of bad government. What of those who died as a result of bad roads , poor hospital facilities and response , hunger and frustration. May her soul rest in peace and may the souls of those who have caused or causing frustration on Nigerians both the  living and dead once souls should not rest in peace. Angry Sad :'( Embarrassed

this is a wake up call to govt to renovate all old school structures, now these two girls has to sacrifice their lives for govt to wake up to their responsibility.
