He was allegedly drugged by the two women, who carted away his belongings worth N850,000.
P.M.News gathered that Pa Gabriel has just returned to Nigeria after 28 years sojourn in England and settled at Block 129, Flat 3, Jakande Estate, Ejigbo, Lagos, while his wife and children remained in London.
Soon after he settled down, P.M.NEWS learnt that he started sleeping with young girls in the area.
The old man, a retired soldier, was said to have engaged Kafaya and her friend, Kaosarat as househelps but he later started sleeping with them.
According to Kaosarat’s mother, Deborah Apalowo, her daughter, used to sneak into Pa Gabriel’s house with her friend, Kafaya, and they would rub his manhood before having sex with them. The man, it was learnt, usually pays them for their services.
However, during one of their visits, the duo allegedly drugged Pa Gabriel and he became unconscious for three days. They carted away some of his properties, including N450,000 cash.
After being unable to contact him for three days, his wife returned from London and found him lying unconscious in the flat. He was rushed to a hospital where he was revived.
According to his wife, Judith: “When I called my husband’s GSM number for two days, it was ringing but nobody picked it. I thought he had died in the house, since he was living alone. I rushed back and found him unconscious.”
The matter was reported at the Ejigbo police station and Kafaya was arrested, while her partner-in-crime fled.
Kafaya was charged with her accomplice’s mother, Deborah Apalowo, before the Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court for stealing. The trial magistrate, Mrs. Maimunat Folami, struck out the charge against the second defendant and ordered her to produce her daughter in court during the next sitting.
Kafaya, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, was granted bail in the sum of N900,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The court also ordered that the sureties must show evidence of payment of tax and their addresses must be verified by the court.
The matter has been adjourned till 9 December, 2009.
