AMVCA 2015: Late Amaka Igwe Honoured With "Lifetime Achievement Award"

Amaka Igwe, the late renowned filmmaker who spear headed the popular production ‘Checkmate‘ decades ago,was honored with the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award at the recently concluded 2015 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) that held on Saturday, March 6, 2015.

The award was presented by none other than Nollywood veteran and much-loved actor cum politician, Richard Mofe-Damijo, who serenaded Amaka for her outstanding contribution to the industry, while also expressing his gratitude to her for giving him the opportunity to star in her hit production ‘Checkmate’.

The award was received by late Amaka Igwe’s husband and business partner, Charles Igwe, who said all his wife ever wanted was to give her very best in everything.
