Mikel's Chelsea and Odiah's CSKA Moscow advanced to this stage of the European football money-spining league having emerged first and runner-up respectively from their group matches.
Chelsea playing in Group D, tops the group with 14 points from six matches ahead of Porto which came second with 12 points and Atletico Madrid and APOEL securing third and fourth place with three points each.
CSKA who played in Group B, garnered 10 points to place second in the group behind Manchester United with 13 points. The group also parade Obafemi Martins’ Wolfburg which placed third with seven points, while Beskiktas of Turkey secured four points to place last.
CSKA progressed to the group stage for the first time in their fifth attempt after a dramatic victory against Besiktas.
Teams that made it to the knockout stage include Bordeaux, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Fiorentina, Barcelona, Sevilla, Arsenal. Others include Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Porto, Lyon, Inter Milan, Stuttgart and Olympiakos.
The Champions League second round will see the winners from one group facing the runners-up from another, with the runners-up playing the first leg at home. The winners and runners-up of the same group will not be drawn against each other.
And clubs from the same association must not been drawn against each other, so Arsenal, Chelsea and United will be kept apart. The first first-leg ties of the knockout stage will be played between February 16 and 17 while the second leg is scheduled for February 23 and 24.
