Quote from: papadip on 28-08-2015 02:31 PM This may be a manufactured story because names of the said APC leaders are not being mentioned not withstanding ....it is not a big deal. I fully agreed with Patrick Utomi when he said he does not care if all appointees are from one village. What is more important is the welfare of the people. We want pensioners and workers to be paid on time. We want adequate security. People are crying for jobs for the youth, stable electricity, water supply and good roads. Education is another priority and many more. Appointments should be based on qualifications and not on tribes. We’ve had enough of mediocrity in this country. Most of the 36 states created to allay or curb tribalism are not viable….most cannot even pay the salaries of their workers. Those politicians governing these states are just looting the treasuries. What happened to Federal Character in the Nigerian Constitution?. I agree that we should get the best hands to pilot the affairs of Nigeria, but this should be done within the context of Federal Character as embedded in the Constitution or we must re-write the Constitution and expunge the Federal Character. Because of the Federal Character provision a young boy in Enugu State,Edo State or Lagos State will score 230 in Jamb and will be denied admission to read Law in a Federal University,a less intelligent young boy in Adamawa State,Kaduna State or Kano State will score 130 and will be admitted in the same Federal University to read the same Law. Does it mean there are no qualified, competent and honest people in South East,South South and South West?.Why must all the appointees except one come from the North.....does it mean the North have a monopoly of qualification, competency and honesty?. Professor Pat Utomi may not care if all the appointees are from the same village, that is his opinion and he is entitled to it.But the fact here is that Nigeria is a Federation made up of 6 Federating units,or 36 Federating units,as you may like, and it is embedded in our Constitution that each of Federating units be given some level of representation on National issues. The problem with us youths in this country is that we have refused to stand up for the truth. "History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people." Martin Luther King Jr.

Abi o, as a Buhari supporter even when supporting him was Replyunfashionable, I am clearly and obviously disappointed, I regret to say the South-Easterners were right this time smh, on to 2019 in my opinion, APC out in my opinion with their anti-people policies of infrastructure over salaries for their state governors and an ethnic president, how about Labour Party or APGA for governors and Peter Obi as president in 2019? At least, Peter Obi did well in Anambra state, no debts and no backlog of workers' salaries and his stooge in Mr. Willie Obiano is currently doing well for Anambra state, I am confident Peter Obi is a very viable candidate for the presidency in my opinion due to his antecedents. My 2 cents.

I really think PMB should try do things differently. We can't Replyignore the fact that his style of making public his appointments may unnecessarily heat up the polity. If it will warrant that he doesn't make public certain appointments pending the time that he'll conclude with that of others coming from other regions, it'll surely be better. His votes came from across the 6 geopolitical zones of the country and be must as such put the opinion of Nigerians at heart. The truth remains that no matter how much of technocrat he feels the north has, there are equally hundreds of such in most other regions who are capable and have no stains. Nigeria will be great
