The Daily Mail have published a list of highest paid players in the English Premier League, Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney tops the list, and will pocket £73m after signing a new five-and-a-half year contract in February 2014.

Considering his poor start to the season, it is amazing that Rooney is the highest paid footballer in England.

Five Manchester City players make the top 10 with three Chelsea players and just Mesut Ozil as the only Arsenal player on the list.
