The Child Dignity Foundation, CDF, is set to hold the forth edition of its kid boxing development programme tagged ‘Potential.’
Billed for the Brai Ayonote Boxing Gym, National Stadium, Lagos, today, the sports empowerment project aims at encouraging children with sporting talents to pursue their dreams.
Chief Executive of the foundation, Mrs Amaka Awogu, promises that the 2015 edition of the children boxing competition will be bigger and better to build on the successes of previous editions.
“During our first edition a female boxing talent was discovered. She is currently on scholarship with Lagos State and  we are hoping that in this edition also, more talents will be discovered and scholarships awarded  to them. This is in line with our objective of inspiring and supporting every child to build self esteem and achieve prosperity with their talents.”
The event attracts top sports personalities including boxing legends and coaches like Adura Lanlehin, Obisia Nwankpa Jerry Okorodudu who have continued to function as mentors and guides for the kid boxers.
The CDF focusses on child protection, development and advocacy with commitment to the well being of children especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds regardless of gender, creed or race.
