The Nigerian Army has announced that Colonel Samaila Inusa who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Sunday in Kaduna has been found dead.
A tweet from the official Twitter handle of the Nigerian Army said the colonel was found dead on Tuesday.
Inusa was kidnapped alongside his wife, but she was dropped off by the kidnappers who drove the officer towards Abuja in a Mercedes Benz car.
The army had initially offered to pay anyone with useful information about the abduction, N500,000. The figure was later increased to N1 million.
