A Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Wednesday ordered that all bank accounts; both indetified and yet to be identified, belonging to the sacked Chief Executive Officer of Oceanic Bank Plc, Mrs Cecilia Ibru be frozen.
The monies in the identified bank accounts belonging to her stood at a whopping N500 billion.
Justice Akinjide Ajakaye in giving the directive, issued a Mareva order, which is a global order used in preserving subject matters of cases.
The request for the freezing was made by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, which had earlier seized 103 properties from her and multi-billion shares in 77 companies.
With the order granted in Wednesday, the commission, according to its spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, would start the sealing up of the properties already identified as belonging to her.

If this can be proven to be hers, the money and properties should be returned. It all means that now they will have to be hiding their money with ficticious names. She is good that she did not carry her money outside the country. This cannot be a witch hunt. Leave what is legally hers to be hers.

500 billion naira?add this to the amount other mds stole from their banks, add it to the one our governors stole, then our presidents, u will find out that with all this moneym we can have good roads, water and electricity, it took 15 years for dubai government to turn dubai to a world class city AND WE ARE STILL BROKE AT 40+,... Nigeria steel complex was commission same year with korean steel complex, today, korea produces cars like hyundai, kia and all, ours is yet to be completed after being commissioned for more than 20 years now. all they now do is award a fresh multi billion dollar contract every year for same project and then share the money, ...i cry for our country, i cry for my state, i cry for my city, for all this, i wanna know, if God forgotten us!!!
