People often dream about their wedding – some right from when they were children – imagining what they will wear, who they’ll marry and where they’ll get married. Traditionally, we either get married in a place of worship, civil union in front of a government official or at home in the presence of friends and family.
However, for some people, a church, court or your father’s sitting room are boring locations which was why concepts like destination weddings were created. Still, it is not enough getting married in some beach location surrounded by the sea and coconut trees, some want more.
Check out some of the weirdest places human beings have celebrated their love and pledged eternity to each other.
1. Under the sea

Obviously, it takes a lot of planning to make your dreams come true in this unique location. First of all, you need a priest willing to dive in with you and some adventurous guests but most importantly, you need oxygen tanks if you don’t want to die on your wedding day. Then you need lots of towels and dry clothes else you are going to die of hypothermia or pneumonia when you return to land.
2. On a plane

Keith and Dottie on the Southwest Airline Flight where they got married.
In 2014, Dotttie and Keith Stewart, who travel a lot for their jobs, decided the best place to get married would be on a plane. Luckily, they had acquired enough frequent flier miles to ensure that 30 guests joined them on their big day in the air. Obviously, if you are similar feat be aware of how expensive it is. Hopefully, you have some frequent flier miles too. Or you charter a private jet or a light plane. Yes, a couple did get married literally on top of two light planes. The minister was tied to the roof of the third.

3. On top of an erupting volcano

George and Michelle chose the best place to express their fiery passion for each other
Adventurous souls, Michelle and George, in 2006 decided, maybe not casually, to tie the knot on an “erupting” volcano on Tanna Island, Vanuatu.
4. In a cave

Cave weddings are actually common.
Because getting married above ground is overdone. If you want to you could go the full nine yards and go for a caveman theme – wear skins and be like the Flintstones. But seriously, a cave would make a serene and interesting location, don’t you think?
5. In a shark tank

Why?!
This must be the most dangerous location ever – hence why safety measures are put in place and only the bride and groom get to actually be in the tank with the shark. The wise minister remains outside.
6. On Twitter

Yes, this actually happened. In 2012, a Turkish couple Cengizhan Çelik and Candan Canik decided to have a “virtual” wedding, saying all the vows via Twitter. The officiant tweeted too. But they obviously had to sign their marriage certificate offline.
