A group known as Concerned Militant Leaders, CML, from the Niger Delta region yesterday gave Fulani herdsmen two weeks to vacate the South-East and the South-South.
The warning followed recent attacks by the herdsmen on farmers and villagers in both regions.

In a statement by its spokesman, General Ben in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, the group admonished the Federal Government to tell Nigerians who Fulani herdsmen were or the rate of killings and kidnapping of the “so-called herdsmen,” would be unprecedented.

Ben said,
Quote
“After two weeks, starting from today, Tuesday, May 3, we are going to search for Fulani herdsmen. Since Federal Government cannot tell us who they are up till now, we are going to look for them.
“The Fulani herdsmen have indirectly challenged us, asking us what can we do. But, we promise them that we will not allow them to go without taking revenge. It is an insult and we will give them back.”

The militants while describing the attacks as provocative and challenging, vowed to retaliate if the herdsmen remain in the region two weeks from now.

While many Nigerians all over the world are fighting hard to bring good names to Nigeria, the government is doing too little to align the economic and social status of the nation with acceptable and meaningful standards. These herdsmen are allowed to drag the name of the country to mud by rearing their livestock from street to street while feeding them with dirty water and unsanitary feeds and silage. They are endangering the lives of the consumers, the country should stop eating beef from these unhealthy disease and bacteria infested animals. The govt should give them loans and farm lands to rear their cattle, and like every other loan, make profitable arrangement for returns on the loan and eventual return of the loans. The North has a vast areas of unused land, there is no need for the conflicts they are causing all over the country.
