A father accused of rape sent a stream of apologetic messages to his alleged victim, telling her: 'I wanted you to say no one more time', a court has heard.

Ryan Falconer, 24, told the woman he had 'f****** up' after she sent him a Whatsapp message accusing him of rape and threatening to report him to the police.

The court heard how the father-of-one sent the woman a sad face and said he 'felt bad' before telling her to 'focus on the good' and begging her not to go to police.

He told the woman: 'I'm sorry! I wanted you to say no one more time then it would have stopped. I've f***** up!'

When he then tried to suggest the pair 'touched each other', the woman replied: 'Don't even f****** dare blame me', the court was told.

Prosecutor Jonathan Sharp told the court that the exchange of messages was a 'clear and comprehensive admission' and that the complainant was  'deeply, deeply upset' by what happened.

Falconer, from Bradford, denies one count of rape.

Bradford Crown Court was told how the pair had met a few years previously.

Despite Falconer being in a relationship, the pair had struck up a friendship and the court was told he would often send the woman suggestive messages.

Although she sometimes engaged in the flirting, she would fob him off most of the time, the court heard.

The young woman, who lived at home with her parents, invited Falconer to her home on the evening of Saturday May 16, last year.

The jury heard he arrived at around 8.45pm and the pair went to her bedroom.

It was there that Falconer allegedly raped the woman, after pulling her on top of him, even though she kept saying no, the court heard.

He also tried to orally rape her while they were watching TV, the court was told.

The woman told the court that Falconer had said: 'You can do it, you know you want to,' while she kept saying: 'No, I don't want to. Stop. Get off me.'

Mr Sharp told jurors: 'She made it perfectly clear that she did not want it to happen.'

The court was told how the woman asked Falconer to leave at about 10pm. She then googled 'I think I have just been raped' and 'was I raped' because she was confused about what had happened.

She told jurors she hadn't been screaming or crying during her ordeal as you usually see in rape cases.

When asked by Judge Jonathan Rose why she did not scream, she replied: 'Because I just froze. I kept saying no. And you don't want your parents to see you getting raped.'

The woman went to the police two days later and Falconer was arrested and interviewed.

He told investigating officers she consented and did not tell him to stop at any stage.

The trial continues.
