Here is a press release to that effect
It is common place, in human nature, to be oblivion, especially, the landmarks of a fast growing metropolitan town like Owerri capital city.
Not too long ago, as part of the Rescue Mission Government's policy on Urban Renewal, His Excellency Rochas Okorocha erected a befitting statue of the holy family at the popular "Assumpta Cathedral Church", Owerri.
No doubts, the leadership of church poured appreciation on the Governor but most of those criticizing the statues at Imo Hall of fame today, might have forgotten too, that this statue for the recognition of Christ Jesus is a strong indication of the Governor's faith and unshakable belief in the power of the most high God.
However, a statue is a statue, be that of Jesus Christ, Zuma or Christiano Ronaldo. It speaks volume of the life and times, impacts and leadership impartation needed to effect the needed change on our upcoming generations. Hence,Owelle should be commended for this outstanding and educational conception.
Like the wailers would say; "Owelle Akpuolagi?"
See them laughing... Ndi ojoooooo
