Former Vice-president, Atiku Abubakar flew to Akure, capital of Ondo state to lead the governorship campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in nearby Ekiti State.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, deputy chairman of the party in South West, Chief Pius Akinyelure and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, were already at the Akure Airport, also planning to leave for Ekiti for the campaign of former Governor Kayode Fayemi.
According to report, when they learnt about Atiku’s impending arrival, they decided to wait to accord him all the courtesies that his political status demands.
Former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel, now Atiku’s campaign director, was also seen doing the introduction.
The meeting of the influential politicians have been interpreted as politics without bitterness, especially since Atiku last year dumped the APC to rejoin the PDP.
