The Chicago Tribune’s Megan Crepeau is reporting that R. Kelly has been granted release from jail on a $1 million bond.
Crepeau shared the video of Kelly walking out of jail surrounded by reporters. And this comes just two days after he turned himself in to authorities and pled not guilty to 10 counts of aggravated criminal segxwal abuse in Cook County.
The singer was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal segxwal abuse for allegedly abusing four underage girls who prosecutors say were Kelly’s victims from 1998 to 2010. He is due back in court on Friday, March 22.
Also, Kelly was hit with a new lawsuit in Cook County yesterday after a woman named Heather Williams claims he segxwally abused her in 1998 when she was 16 years old. Lisa VanAllen, the woman who testified against R. Kelly in his 2008 child pornography case, also penned a New York Times op-ed, published today.
We can’t wait to see how this pans out.
