
51-year-old Civil Engineer, Olwadare Adesanmi, has been arrested by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP) for allegedly molesting a 15-year-old teenager and impreginating her.

According to the statement by NAPTIP’s Press and Public Relations Unit, Mr. Vincent Adekoye, the victim was a Junior Secondary School student hired by the accused family.
Mr Adekoye said: “The victim was hired by the family about two years ago, and has been living with them in their one bedroom apartment in Dutse, Abuja, before the defilement, which has resulted to pregnancy; she said that the man sneaked into the sitting room, where she was sleeping and forced himself on her.

“The matter came to the open when one teacher in her school noticed some changes in her, which necessitated her being taken for the medical test.”
He also said parents will be held responsible by the agency if they allow their wards to be abused.
He said: “NAPTIP has decided to begin, holding parents responsible for the abuse and defilement of their children because it is the responsibility of parents to protect their wards from any form of abuse.”
The agency said the suspect would soon be charged in courts after the investigation had been concluded.
