Canelo knocked out Kovalev in the 11th round of a rather one sided light heavyweight championship bout that saw Canelo Alvarex knock out the "Krusher" Kovalev. As expected, Canelo constantly invest in the body in the earlier part of the fight and worn out the rather aged Kovalev who eventually gave way in the 11th round as Canelo hit him with a good 1-2 combination that ended the bout in a very dramatic fashion. This victory means Canelo now hold championship belts in 4 divisions. At the age of 29 Canelo is now:
