Usually when a girl asks such questions she probably feels she's gone too far and just needs to know that U intend to take her onboard. Usually comes up when Ur kissing a girl who isn't Ur gf, or U've made out with her a couple of times without ever asking her out or getting a yes or no to that, or U've had sex with her and it dawns on her she's being cheap with U.

The sad thing is when such is the case the girl would have depreciated in value before the guy so much he won't be sure he wants anything more than he has gotten without having to commit.
