Police check points, like all other things, have their merits and demerits. Total ban may sound great now, but the consequence of such an act would manifest sooner than we expect. Just wait and see.

To ban the police from mounting check points is not enough ,the police in Nigeria should be re-oriented in the acts of modern policing
The rate of human right violation going on in our police stations is alarming ,money for bail ,money for stationaries and all forms of illigal extortions should stop fortwith. And since it is now an incontrovetable fact that the police is responsible for the accident that took over 30 lives ,arrengment should be in top gear to compensate the families of the victims as that is the only way to assuage the feelings of Nigerians.

We have had this several times. I give them(Police) two weeks of compliance before they would return to the roads. What about High-way? Is high-way inclusive? If so people should be very careful of the timing of their travels, as the same police might send the men of the underworld in anger to go and rob people on the high-way. this has been regular tactics of police each time authority asked them to leave the roads. they would conive with the armed robbers to go and cause mayhem so that they can return to the road.

Hey! hey!! hey!!! I ganrantee this dream would be short live. Road block is an average policeman source of income and it will be inconceiveable to plough away that delicious tast from the jaw of their mouth without serious consiquences or resistance. THE CHECK MATE OR JOKER CARD IS IN THEIR HANDS. All they need to do to come back to the street is to creat waves of illusion or actuality of arm robberies or kidnapings and the masses will beg for ROAD BLOCKS. I'm certain this will happen within the next six months to one year. I hope and pray my prediction would be a guiding principle toward the substanance of a great idea conceived by a great man. TIME WILL TELL. LONG LIVE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!!!!

The problem is not the checkpoints, the problem is our type of Police force. Now Nigerians will have to contend with more robbery points.
