The $700 billion bailout is not intended for the "world economy" it is intended for the "US economy" which is in the dumps because the war is costing over 4 billion USD a month; the US economy has been directed toward fighting Iraq, bombing it down and searching for terrorists.

While that has been going on, taxes went up, mortgages became unbearable, education funding became non-existent (hence the crisis with Sally Mae), oil prices went up, jobs got out-sourced, people got canned, they started living off credit cards they couldn't pay off, and the vicious circle continues. The United States of all place is borrowing money from China to buy Oil from the middle East. They are hoping the $700,000,000,000 will help... let's hope so.

The US is over 1.3 trillion dollars in debt (or more). Right now they are worried about their own economy... world economy is the last thing on their minds. However we live in a global society, and Corporate America is dependent on world markets as well, so when the American economy suffers it affects other countries. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future.
