Yep,true.Tht's why I said its out of desperation,nothing else.
Why only desperation? Can't it also be in a bid to avoid fornication? A woman/man who has the fear of the Lord will want to go ahead with their plans, whatever the source of brideprice knowing that once married, they have the right to consumate their marriage without reproach of fornication and at the same time respecting each other.
