The truism that today is that tomorrow that we waited for yesterday put a lot doubt on the man ability to rise to future challenges of the family.

I still cant see the big deal. If you are willing to spend the rest of your life with this person. "Why the rush?" Dont forget that at times its not the guy who is rushing but the girl. So, what is the rush you asked, you are the rush. See the problem right there..."MY MONEY" you are in a relationship with this person until this point and you still consider that somethings in the relationship to be yours. its suppose to be "OUR" there is no longer suppose to be "MY" let say both of you start up a business and then he uses out of the money to pay your bride price, does that make a different? Moreover, I dont see him wanting to marry you and you providing the money a rush. you have the money so, what is the problem? you paying the bride price doesnt make him less of a man if you dont view it that way. its the view you press on it that differentiate it.   As I said early, it doesnt mean everyone has to know that you(woman) paid the bride price unless you decide to let all your friends know how weak of a man your husband is and how he can not even afford bride price. If its going to be between you and him then why is it a problem?

This is exactly one sweet thing i like about you....you always have a good way to make things right....well everything u said made a lot of sense.but u must also understand that not everyone has this kind of plans up in their head u know..sometime it's always the women's fault bcz they always want things to be done in a hurry simply bcs of many reasons i dont know.i'm sure u know what i'm talking right
Any lady that is so desprate to get married to the extent of paying her own brideprice will one question the man position in the family.

Desperation!.Nothing else, than that.Mostly for sum,its when they are in their 30's or late 20's and wants to get married.Funny enough, its men who just want to eat their money and dump them for younger girls.Cos a hardworking man will neva dance to such tune.

And u think or believe that it's a crime for a woman to be in a haste to sittle down......dont u think their must be a good reason behind it or something?

Funny enough, I have seen cases where the woman paid for her bride price and everything worked out perfectly. I guess you just have to be confident in the person and know that no matter what the situation both of you will still stand. At times, its not desperation  but what needs to be done at that time.

Yea i must say u have a point there...............that's why i once said earlier that there are lots of reasons behind this whole thing
but i still stand on my grand that it's never a crime if a woman has to support her man in it.after all it's for better and for worst

You are just one out of a million but we are talking of brideprice that is traditional rooted but nothing hurts a man like being reminded what makes him less-a-man and this main likely come up sometime.

And thats because the woman is stupid and prideful.Grin

Helping your husband out in his time of need doesn't mean you should come and sit back and rob it in his face. If that woman respects that man as her husband, she would not. RESPECT is another thing we ought to look at.

People are indeed different. Just as the bible says in Jeremiah 17:9; The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?

No reasonable inlaws will be hard posed that their future son in law must pay all at once especially in areas that still demand huge brideprice. As a man it is still preferable your position and future reference to bargain with your inlaws to get the brideprice down to your affordable limit.

Nice one u got there gurl....................kudos for ya.................well said and supported
Shocked Shocked Shocked Dont tell me you cant afford to pay 5000naira or 10000naira for my brideprice?.And why dont we wait until you can afford it,why the rush?.My family will allys be there. And instead of giving you my money to come pay my brideprice,i will rather we both use that money to start sum lil business and do sum investment.Or you start a lil business of your own and trust me i will stand behind you 24/7 whenever you need me.Hmmmmm and if you cant afford brideprice, wat's the point of having a wedding?.Why dont we save all the money and invest, invest, invest and invest.Maybe sumday you might be like DANGOTE.
Pals lets get it logical. The "rush" which I don't like calling rush could be to avoid unpredictable temptations and why not officialise the relationship to stay right before God and man. Remember not all may afford to abstain from sex, nor want to indulge in pre-marital sex so go straight for marriage.
