The government of Imo State, in line with its 3Rs mantra of reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery, has confiscated a multi-billion naira estate, Royal Palm Estate, allegedly owned by the wife of the former Governor of Imo state, Nkechi Okorocha.

DAILY POST gathered that the estate located along Akachi road in Owerri, the Imo State capital, was earlier singled out as part of the former governor’s property allegedly built with Imo State money.

According to the judicial commission of enquiry on recovery of lands and other related matters, set up by the immediate past Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, the structure was certified to be reclaimed by Imo government after full-scale investigation on the authenticity of Okorocha’s ownership of the estate.

The estate built and commissioned sometime around 2018, had several buildings with the state of the arts facilities which led to its popular demand.

It would be recalled that the state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, a couple days back, recovered the Eastern Palm University, Ogboko which the governor had claimed it’s ownership.

The University, according to reports, was renamed K. O Mbadiwe University.

Some people are of the view that the Governor may soon take on the Rochas Okorocha college of Africa in Orji alleged to have also been built with Imo money.

Why should the family members of a government official have access to public funds? It's a shame what Nigeria has become.

Rochas  should be charged  for murder case of the little boy, arson, dude cheque to pensioners,  also  the issue of Imo Air ownership should be looked into and total  monetary fraud of Imo treasury as well as all Owerri metropolis lands owned by Rochas and his in-law Uche Nwosu.

What I dont understand is: what happens to people who have already bought these properties from the Mrs Okorocha? How many of this standard of estate do you have in your state? Why will you waste money by demolishing the property? Why not seek a lawful way to retrieve the money from the main owners? This doesn't make sense and this is why all the thieves have refused to invest their loot in Nigeria. Use it to the betterment of common people or turn it to hospital.
