Kanu Nwankwo, the Arsenal legend, has urged the Super Eagles of Nigeria to learn from their mistake and move on following their elimination from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)

Nigeria crashed out of the 2021 AFCON after losing 1-0 against Tunisia on Sunday night in Cameroon.

A second-half goal from Youssef Msakni ensured Tunisia defeated the Super Eagles in the AFCON round of 16 and qualified for the quarter-finals.

Reacting, Kanu, who had wished the Super Eagles good luck before the match against Tunisia, said he was proud of the Nigeria national team.

The former Ajax star also urged the Super Eagles to qualify Nigeria for the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Kanu wrote on Twitter on Monday morning, “My country people. Yeah. Super Eagles are out of #afcon21 All the same we learn from our mistakes and move on. Let’s go qualify for the World Cup.

80% of the super eagles are Igbos and you expected them to win the match for you while their heroes  NNAMDI KANU and other Igbo freedom fighters are being detained by Buhari? God forbid. No more trophies for Nigeria until an Igbo becomes president of Nigeria or NNAMDI KANU is released. We are the dot in a circle of useless Nigerians.

You are a mumu man. Igbos are the most greedy people in Nigeria and they will never become president of Nigeria. Nnamdi Kanu will die in prison. We the northerners will continue to dominate all Nigerians because Nigeria is for north.

I beg you all in God's name, football is like the one single thing that still brings us the masses together, please don't bring your sentiments into it. For the sake of God take your sentiments and whatever you are fighting and killing for somewhere else.
