Is shouting a form of assault?

Just wanted to know, because one of my old neighbours like that was arrested for shouting at his teenage daughter and she reported him to police for VERBAL ASSAULT and he was locked up and even taken to a psychiatrist.

Is shouting on your children a form of assault?

Shouting is part of our culture here in Nigeria



I remember when i was still a kid, when singing d national anthem u have to shout ur lungs out when singing d last line........

 just like my baby says whenever i shout at her " I taught u said u wont shout for me again"
she hates it whenever i shout at her

its never good for the child
it scares dem away from u
