Dguy, one thing I notice on earth is that, man is bound to worship a supernatural.

While talking on religion, I think this is believe, but christianity is not a religion this is an act of relating with God.

God is being, and you have to relate with him.

Dguy, think about this!

What is the importance of religion ? The importance of religion is in it's ability to deflect the attention of a subjugated people away from those who would be their masters and in the process ligitimise their rulership by claiming God has put them in athority. In truth religion is a Satanic device use to drive a wedge between humanity and the Kingdom of God ; which according to the Bible  teaching, Jesus has been appointed Ruler. How else could Satan rule over man unless he uses religion to make legal his athority.

@ poster, i've thought about that too but i think it's because it's meant to always put us back on track.

when Jesus came, he thought people about the kingdom of God and he is the root of religion(christianity i'll say) and the priest of God took over and that's how it's being going on and on. the practical example are the priests.

That is what we are saying,is that what your religion said? you dont need to insult him/her that way. What you need to do is to tell him/her what it needs to know. Now both of you should read this:  Religion was one of the main human society sectors that revolutionized the idea of 'ethics'. Religion tells you to be a good person, to love your enemies, to help those who need help. The notion of 'ethics' may be a universal idea lying in every human, but religion is what helped it come to life.

i don't give a damn about religion......well to answer ur question......it's  of no use, let statistics and history inform u , the poorer a nation is the closer they r to 'god'.........in those days men did not understand how things worked around them and they made up 'god' but now we know how things work, so why r we still dwelling on it?.........pls don't be offended if u were brought up to believe 'his' existence, this is just my humble view.
U are doomed by evil. Better repent or ...

Religion, like governing, or policing is a concept to subjugate people or make them subservient. This is why all religions require obedience and worship.

All religions are justified or created by a human claiming to have experienced visitation from a heavenly(Sky or cosmic) entity. That person then creates a set of rule or laws, supposedly given by the heavenly entity. The rules or laws define a journey path to the unknown and can never be verified in ones life time.

The problem with religion is that because of the personal gain of the founder, and the quest of power over his/her peers, laws to demean people and stop them gaining in knowledge is always created. Leading to the people being restricted to learning and thereby becoming illitrates. Do you notice that the current schooling system was put in place by religion? Can you then see that knowledge has really gone downwards since them...............take a look at ancient buildings like the sphinks and the pyramids, you will notice they where built with mathematics and astrology. These sought of knowledge is no longer present today, neither can we lift a 130000 tonnes of brick 20 feet on top of another with our modern equipment.

Religion and the truth of religion are two completely different things. Religion is important because it provides many with rules for living based on fear and the threat of eternal damnation.. The law also provides these guidelines. Non-religious people have the same moral compass but not based on eternal damnation.

Why should we have a religion?

We are not required to have a religion.  However, it is imperative that everyone have a "relationship" with their creator. Mans attempt to reach back to the God who has first reached out to him, has brought about various "religions".  When we leave the simplicity of truth, we end up with a world of confusion where each person tries to justify their own beliefs. The first 5 books of the law/torah is the core of truth that all 3 major religions can agree upon for the most part.

They all agree that the fulfillment of the law is summed up or fulfilled in one messenger/deity God. "Religion" aka war enters the picture when each tries to give their own interpretation of who is the messenger that fulfills the law. That is why it is imperative that we only allow the Torah/law to interpret itself. It clearly foretells, describes and provides us with a clear description of the birth, life, death, resurrection and return of the one/the deity that is the "fulfillment" of the Law. When we ignore the Torahs on definition, revelation and explanation of who the Christ is...."Religion" is born and it dilutes our relationship with the one and true creator God.

For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:4

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 2 Corinthians 4:3
