Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has slammed the conduct of the governorship election in Kaduna State. According to him, the declaration of Senator Uba Sani, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is far from the will of the people. Uba was declared the winner of the governorship election in the State by INEC’s Returning Officer, Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, on Monday night.

He said Sani polled 730,002 votes to defeat his closest rival, Isa Ashiru of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 719,196 votes.

“Kaduna Governorship election;not expression of the people but of Kaduna APC & Kaduna iNEC consortium. “We thank and appreciate the courage of those who rejected tyranny and gave us their untainted votes. “The candidate will make public his next line of action as he deems. Thank you all,” the former Kaduna Central Senator tweeted.
