The Presidency has dismissed rumors that President Muhammadu Buhari is unwilling to hand over to President-elect, Bola Tinubu, when his tenure ends on May 29.
According to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the government is already in the transition phase, and it is outrageous and fake to suggest that Buhari is unwilling to hand over. Shehu described the source of the rumor as politically partisan and alleged that it repeatedly sold lies.
He added that the Transition Committee, made up of representatives of the outgoing and incoming administrations, is meeting daily to plan the handover to the Tinubu/Shettima administration, and everything is going well.
Shehu also said that Buhari is eager to return home and enjoy his retirement, and the Daura community has begun preparations to receive him back after two successful terms.
